LGR - The Sims 4 Cottage Living Review

https://youtu.be/AEi9FFZhqn0

Well then, seems it's been a while since I did one of these. The last Sims pack I covered was back in 2020 – 8 months ago now! Can you believe there have been seven additional content packs since then that I haven't covered? Yeeeeaaah. And I don't plan on covering them either.

I've had practically zero interest in reviewing all the crap EA's been pushing out since November. There are only so many times I can say I'm disappointed and something sucks, after all.

That being said, going forward I do plan to check in on the series every so often with one of these expansion pack videos, since at least there are only one or two of those a year at most. That's as much as I can stomach at this point.

Next week is an 'off week' for LGR, which really means there's no public video next Friday and I'll be spending extra time working on other in-progress videos in the background. So I'll see y'all at the start of August! (Or before if you happen to be subscribed to LGR Blerbs, but yeah.) Have a good one, folks πŸ‘

Comments

Maybe it's time for an LGR + Aging Wheels chickens collab!

CharlieVictor

No sheep, but there are half-attempted duck ponds. The ducks are only cosmetic and not interactive though.

LGR

Thank you, I'm glad they're appreciated!

LGR

Hey Clint! I'm sure you've heard this many times before but I get enormous pleasure from your factual reviews. Far too many YouTube "reviewers" are just mouthpieces for the big game houses but you have my full trust. Refreshing.

MoultrieGeeks

So they've made an expansion pack inspired by the UK countryside, and there are no sheep? Or duck ponds?

Tim

But can the cow beat Duke Nukem at Tic-Tac-Toe?

Steve Lovelace

I'm afraid so. I think EA committed to another few years of content recently, with "no end in sight" or something ominous along those lines

LGR

Man, $40 for an expansion pack for a 7 year old game. Meanwhile, more and better content is being offered by fans for free. Today's gaming industry in a nutshell.

Pablo Rodriguez

Are we going to be stuck with Sims 4 for a while longer? I would have thought that, after 7 years now, we were ready to move on. (Then again, I guess EA is still making money on expansion packs - so why should they invest in a full new version?)

Nice video! I tried to like The Sims 4....... In the end, I deleted it......

A corporation entirely incapable of chill.

LGR

I really thought they would've been done that years ago, or some kind of season passes or something. But I guess they make more than enough this way πŸ˜‘

LGR

I want to *share* more about my prize-winning chickens! I know I've got photos somewhere.

LGR

I want to hear more about your prize-winning chickens

User759

"EA has no chill..." hahaha. Not an ounce.

Jeremy

It's just ridiculous at this point, like $800 for all expansions and packs. Maybe a subscription model is next?

Braxen

I can only imagine. I've made over 50 videos on this game's content now, I don't even know how many packs there actually are!

LGR

Nice review Clint! I have asked my wife how many of these packs/expansions we've bought for my daughter and she told me "You don't want to know..."
