I like this a lot. If you want to do more longer read-throughs of catalogues and magazines I wouldn't say no!

Few people did in Outpost due to the balancing issues and various bugs! Really was a shame how it turned out.

I enjoyed Outpost way more than I should have. And now I will always have a soft spot for it, even though it's sort of.. pointless

Ugh, I read Shogun as a kid. What a depressing novel. Never read the other related books. Croissant Hawks' Revenge was pretty great, though. I had a friend that had Outpost and always wanted it. Only learned as an adult that it was pretty bad to actually... play. Said friend never did seem to get far in that game.

I was thinking of doing my own review video of the infocom treasures box set will have to work out how to do that just so much stuff cane with it and for some reason it came with a unlabeled 5 1/2 in floppy

Also, I have to say I thought Betrayal at Krondor was great at the time, although my opinion might have been colored by my love of the old Riftwar books.

Wow I think I had that exact same catalog and boxed copy of Outpost! Also, Crescent Hawks Inception and Revenge were two of my favorite games growing up. But I don't remember the character portrait they showed in the screenshot in the Infocom catalog... Were there different versions of that game?

You've never played Quest for Glory 4?! That's actually considered THE best in the entire series! Personal favorite, too! And the voicework is amazing (almost) all the time! As my favorite game series of all time, and my favorite ENTRY in the series, I can't recommend playing it enough (though I do recommend playing through the first 3 so you can get an imported character and be caught up on the story, if you can). Never saw that alternate Kings Quest 5 boxart before, and now I'm scarred for life, thanks. Also, Betrayal at Krondor is actually a direct transcription of the book of the same name by Raymond E. Feist, who is still publishing books for the "Riftwar saga" to this day. Sadly, I would say the game is...OK at best. Combat/leveling is clunky and the story is a direct book translation, so it makes assumptions that you already know a lot of the people you'll meet in it like a sequel would.

I used to have some of these game catalogs, my perennial favorites were from Apogee and Epic MegaGames (used to thumb through them all the time); also had GT Interactive, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, and others. Whenever I had some extra cash I would grab them and look through until I found what I could get - being thirty-something with a good paying job allowed me the luxury back then ^_^. Too bad I lost them all in January 2005 during a rainstorm. Thanks for yet another great video Clint, they sure bring back a lot of great memories for me. Big Thumbs Up!

Man I'm psyched to watch this later when I get home and my 3 year old is asleep. When I was a kid in the late 80s / early 90s, I LOVED drooling over game catalogs. Even my favorite magazines were InterAction (Sierra) and Nintendo Power, both of which were glorified catalogs / advertorials. :)

I played Journey and Quarterstaff (QS on the Mac). They are both fun but hinted at sequels that never happened. I loved the old Infocom text games.

I have both the game and the album, both are pretty awesome and deserve some coverage in the future I think. And yeah Sierra games weren't cheap! I was always diving into the "SierraOriginals" releases as a kid since they were far less costly.

The GT Interactive has an ad for Jeff Wayne's the War of the Worlds, probably my favourite RTS based on a rock-opera. Also, those Sierra games cost 65 dollars?
