LGR - Thrifts [Ep.29] Halloween Threw Up

Comments

please dont touch all the spiders :P

Douglas Beck

Do you think you will ever take the Thrift show on the road? If you bring it to the UK you could do a charity shop special :D

Slope's Game Room

That's entirely dependent on my luck! More often than not, one episode is the result of about 1 to 2 months of thrifting. And I visit these stores a few times a week, so yeah, it can be dozens of trips.

LGR

How many visits do you usually have to do to have a full episode?

JF Caron

Yeah, this was a rare event even for my Goodwills! They're usually locked up for a whole lot more, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

LGR

I might have to trick her in order for THAT to happen, haha. Don't think she'd play it willingly.

LGR

Thank you for your honesty, haha.

LGR

Haha, not yet. I'm waiting for the right night with the right drinks and company :P

LGR

Good to know! I figured the guitar itself wasn't very valuable, but I assume they just priced it up because of the signed pic

LGR

That doesn't surprise me, it looked pretty freaking awful.

LGR

I imagine not, considering how much good I've heard about it!

LGR

D:

LGR

$1.50 PS1 games and $3 SNES games?! Geez! Most Goodwills I go to have all the games in a glass case for $5 each and they're generally PS2 sports games.

pcwzrd13

Get Roses to come over and play that Jurassic Park SNES game with you

SuperBunnyBun

I'll be honest, I kinda covet those couches too.

FizzPlease

Have you seen the Mortal Kombat video yet? It's terrible!

250 bucks for that guitar is a bit much, I'd maybe pay a hundred max. You can get strats like that for incredibly cheap, no need to buy 'em at Goodwill, even if they have a connection to that band, which I doubt.

Manuel Adrian

ION Turntables are pretty miserable, and while $20 seems like a good deal, for that price you can get a much better JVC or Fisher that you can grab audio off of the old fashioned way.

Brad Sparks

whaaaaaat A Link To The Past for $3!?!?!? .. .Amazeballs! You won't be disappointed with it!

Evan B

You go play A Link to the Past right now mister!

Retail Archaeology

Hrm, interesting. Too far away to be from the same source, at least I'd assume so since I'm nowhere near Indiana. But that's a strange coincidence indeed! I assumed the ones I found were ex-DJ records, since they were almost all 12" singles that had been heavily worn out

LGR

Oh yeah, now I really wanna watch this thing, haha

LGR

I'm happy to hear it :)

LGR

Nope, it's explained below the video :) I'll be re-uploading this soon, so this particular embed will be deleted and replaced

LGR

Finally after 8 hours of boring office work...thrifts :-) even my wife enjoyed this episode

Did something undesirable happen for you to disable the comments on YouTube?

I have that movie on VHS and still haven't seen it. Probably been too busy admiring the cover artwork.

Alyxx the Rat

I have never been able to get into the Zelda games at all for some reason. I am partial to Terranigma and Soul Blazer on the SNES in terms of action RPGs.

Alyxx the Rat

Looking forward to "LGR Riffs Barb Wire" ;)

RetroSwim

Never played Link to the Past? You sir are in for a treat... provided the battery backup still works. Also, that Mortal Kombat animation stuff you found? ProJared's done a video on it on his channel. ;)

Kris Asick

Nice find with the SNES games. You rarely see those at all in Goodwill. Getting Zelda:LttP for 3 bucks? Awesome. That MK video... I also got that at a recent trip to Goodwill. Figure it would be something decent. OH LAWD, it's terrible. It's basically follows the first movie up to when they get to the island. Except the voice actors are bad and the animation is cheap. And that 3D animation? So awful it's laughable. Still, no regrets buying it. :P

The Enforcer

I think some stores cleared out, because I've been seeing those Rap/Hip Hop records at every goodwill here, and the town I live in is a country music (seriously, it's 2 mi across) town. All over Indiana I saw some of the ones you had.
