LGR - Carmageddon: Max Damage Review

Also, for the next game, they should consider calling it Maximum Carnage. Then it will work as a pun for both the words Max and car!

I didn't know that Reincarnation was patched after you made that review. Thanks for telling me this now, so I can feel good about reinstalling it on my computer! As for Max Damage, I think I'll wait for a price drop before I get it on Xbox One, if it gets any better in the future.

You seem to have big hands. Or that Blu-ray is tiny.

Watching people play them gives me motion sickness, even when editing this footage! Thankfully playing is another story. Although, higher frame rates than this would help

LGR

I've wanted to do that since I got it, haha

LGR

Yeah, I think it'll be worth the wait!

LGR

ONE whole person all week, haha

LGR

Wow, you actually got someone in matchmaking on PS4, I've tried a ton on Xbone and haven't found anyone

Definitely looking forward to the re-launch on PC! I wasn't aware of that.

I'm surprised your PS4 wasn't wrapped in wood grain...

Looks awesome, though in my old age, I'm finding these type of games seem to give me motion sickness. (Which really sucks.)

Gary Leigh

Aye, my feelings a well. Not many racers going this route anymore, so it's fun to see!

LGR

It's definitely a solid way to kill an afternoon!

I bet they were under plenty of pressure from Kickstarter backers too, having delayed the game FAR longer than they'd promised. All sorts of factors went into this getting a shoddy first go at things, to be sure!

That is the one major drawback with releasing a game too early is that yes, you will get lots of people pledging support, but you open yourself up to critiques which don't necessarily reflect your end goals, which is precisely why I've been so tight lipped about my secret project despite not having had time to work on it the past couple months, and I guarantee that's exactly why they're releasing a pseudo-sequel under a different name free for PC owners of Reincarnation. :P

I very much enjoyed the game on the PS4, while not a looker but that never stopped me from having plenty of fun with it. With the lack of Burnout and some other arcade racers out there, I can say this game is worth taking a look at for those who are looking to take a break from the Racing Simulations.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll wait patiently until this version comes to PC, this console version is a bit hard to look at to be honest. Still lacks a lot of the grit of the oldschool Carma's (I just love those semi-pixelized bodies and blood particles), but maybe it will provide some dumb fun for a couple of hours.
