2021-03-29 01:18:49 +0000 UTCYes things have improved in regards to the treatment of disabled people but I, with my social anxiety and more, experience abuse from my family to this day. These things like Let's Talk by Bell aren't enough. Less talk and more action is needed to help the disabled. Let me say though about the early part of your video where it talks of getting rid of mental illness, retardation and so on by various means and honestly as a disabled person with the hell I have been through and what I have seen others go through if they can use science to find a way to get rid of these things I am for it. However, I am not willing to be a guinea pig for testing to help with the cause. Also honestly in this world another issue for the disabled is the Right to Die legislation in various countries. Not an easy choice to make but it should be made available everywhere. People should not be forced to live when they are constantly suffering and have said to been put through all the treatments available to them up to the point of deciding to die. Finally there is still much hate out there for the disabled as it is constantly mentioned that we are a tax burden on society. Social programs to help us are paid for by people who less and less want to do this. The U.S. and other nations are allowing hate to grow and I feel it and it is to distract people from the real problem and that is governments selling out to corporations. If people were being paid proper wages / salaries they would not have to complain about the money spent on social programs. Oh and as for that idiotic thing they do at Halloween at this hospital now owned privately it is just disgusting. Hopefully they will end this in the future.

Especially with something like this, where it's not lurid or perverse or bizarre or any other trait that often may temper otherwise "serious" cases (serial killers and the like).
