Please use one of the links at the bottom of this post to watch this video, thank you:

Hello All!

A brand new season has begun!! The group seem as close as ever and Kira and Malia seem to be fitting in nicely too. Derek is in trouble though (what's new there?). He's Benjamin Buttoned whilst being rescued by the pack. No clue what this means and how this relates to Kate just yet but I am VERY excited to find out the details!

Hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

Memory is a complex thing in real life. How many times have we not recalled details until we smell a certain smell, hear a certain noise, or taste a certain taste then it is as if it is some vivid dream come to life with no details escaping your recollection. However, without that outside stimuli......nothing. You would be lucky to remember certain things happened at all frankly with how seemingly insignificant they would be viewed. Now factor in this in with the fact that this show is a universe with the supernatural. It isn't as complex to believe Scott knew or had suspicions of Kate but due to absurdity or fear or inexperience he simply suppressed it or couldn't solidify the thought coherently. Perhaps it was simpler than that but he was simply just distracted by being a teenager while juggling the leader of a packs responsibilities. I would argue the issue isn't that we need to not think about or mention it, I would argue the issue is some viewers are not thinking or talking about it enough so it isn't making sense to them. Keep in mind, especially since the 90's, things like hypnotherapy are medically accepted procedures from national institutions governing valid treatments of mental care and look at how that works too and that is real life. Lord knows my memory of my deployment is pretty non existent day to day even if asked about it, by design too, but can be overwhelming when I smell gunpowder, taste blood in my mouth, or hear loud explosions like from fireworks. Yet if you asked me on a normal day what my day to day patrols were like or visit into villages, had I not written them in a journal or been stimulated by something like I mentioned above, I couldn't be all that specific in terms of detail. Memories are constantly overwritten, fogged up, and mixed up over time. Some are forgotten also, that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't a neural pathway inactive to that cluster of the brain holding that memory though, just needs to be accessed.

Quite surprised Dakara signed up to watch this show. I know she likes fun spooky stuff like Buffy but I wasn't sure she was a genuine horror show enthusiast, good to know for future recommendations. She is going to have to drink her coffee out of a cup or mug with a lid from now on when watching Teen Wolf though :).

I did get a chance to watch after all - so a treat for myself! I do share your confusion/annoyance at the sudden nightfall, and the whole weird test resulting in Scott coming to that random memory concluding it was Kate. Didn't make a ton of sense, but as you said in your closing comments, it's not worth making a thing about. Point is, we're moving into a new storyline and getting that set up. I agree that the dynamic was different, but interesting. A different group of characters than we've had before. I share your fondness for the Malia/Stiles dynamic. Interesting point about Malia being somewhat Anya-like - I'd never thought of that comparison, but it does fit. Both are fish-out-of-water types. The yellow orange coloring is a pretty (stereo)typical trope of American television depictions of Mexico. How else would you know it was Mexico if everything wasn't tinted desert yellow? Just a couple more things - first off, you made a comment about not signing up for a horror show, but... um... I hate to tell you this... ;-) Also, yep, the cliffhangers remain in fine form. As always, I'm enjoying this watchalong and can't wait for the next one.
