Thank the sweet lord we have Angel BACK! I was genuinely worried after the whole Darla thing BUT I guess it turns out that was rock bottom instead??? IDK. Either way, I'm happy that he's back and working towards making things right with the group - as he should!!! P.s the eye thing really makes me wince LUL.

If we can't affect the big picture as a whole, all we can do is affect our own small part of it. This is important as hopefully that will continue on, as a ripple effect, to then affect the big picture.

2023-02-08 11:42:20 +0000 UTCThis episode is so important for angel and his mission. His situation has always been a strong metaphor for being an alcoholic/drug user. Angel a former "alcoholic" is trying to stay clean to make up for his past. His "dealer" who made him an alcoholic comes back into his life but she is somber. So he decides he wants to save her because if she can stay sober then there is hope for him. But he fails hard when her old drinking buddy forces her to drink and she goes back to being an alcoholic. He decides screw it and starts going back to old alcoholic behavior and his mission is to get rid of alcoholism and forever be somber. He reaches rock bottom and "tries some alcohol" with Darla. But then this episode is him realizing that alcoholism will always be there as a temption and he may never stop fighting to be completely somber but that shouldn't be the end goal. Just helping others not be affected by alcoholism like he was.

If there's no grand design, if all we have is our own free will, then the most important thing in the world is how we use it; especially if it's within our power to affect another person's life positively. The simplest act of kindness could change or save a life.
