Morrowind Modding Showcases - Video Production and Channel Schedule Week of April 12th

Hey everyone, been a while since I provided regular channel schedules on here, and with our Patreon Re-Launch, I want to start doing a better job of keeping you all informed about what videos are coming up, their current production status, and where we're taking the channel in the future! So, from now on, we'll be posting weekly video production and channel schedule status reports, starting with the week of April 12th!

We've got a number of videos planned for this week, so let's just jump in and go over what we have on the schedule:

The Mod of the Day - Monday-Wednesday, Friday (April 12th-14th, 16th):

Nothing too surprising here, we have four new Mod of the Day videos planned for this week, mostly covering newer mods, and these are already uploaded and live for our Early Access patrons. Production-wise, we may soon be running into an issue of surplus Mod of the Day videos, as we already have nearly every Mod of the Day showcase for April recorded already, along with the first week of May.

Given that we're reserving most of the month of May for Modathon mod showcases, that means any newly produced Mod of the Day videos will either have to air in June, or, possibly, we could look into doing Mod of the Day videos 5-days a week and simply have two videos on some days (namely Tuesday and Thursday), though I'm a little wary of audience fatigue with multiple videos a day. Still, that's something we can stress-test in the future.

The Mod of the Month - January 2021 - Thursday (April 15th):

We're a little behind schedule with video production on this one, mostly because I was a bit sick with a fever yesterday, which made it difficult to focus on work, but currently the video is about 40% complete, and we should have it uploaded and available to our Early Access patrons sometime tomorrow. I'm also planning to provide Early Access patrons with DropBox links for some of our longer videos, like the Mod of the Month, for those looking to bypass YouTube for whatever reason.

The Winners of the Spring Modjam - Saturday (April 17th):

Video production has only just begun on this one, because we didn't actually know who the winners were until nearly the end of this past Saturday, and basically, this video will be taking a look at the winner, the top two runners up, and the Player's Choice award nominee. We'll be covering the other 15 Spring Modjam mods in an additional showcase video on April 24th.

Bit hard to say when we'll have this uploaded, but I'll be working on it today and tomorrow, so Early Access patrons should have access to it by late Wednesday at the latest.

Morrowind Rebirth 5.4 - The Cities of the Ascadian Isles - Sunday (April 18th):

So, I imagine this one might be a bit controversial, given the mixed popularity of Morrowind Rebirth, but the reason why I'm making this video is because a lot of people have been using our old Rebirth 5.0 flyby videos as a resource guide for what Rebirth looks like, and quite obviously, Rebirth 5.4 looks nothing like Rebirth 5.0. My plan here is to simply do a series of hopefully around 5-8 minute cinematic videos showcasing, specifically, the cities of Morrowind Rebirth, divided by region, airing every couple of weeks or so.

In any event, production hasn't quite started on this one yet, but we should have it uploaded and available to Early Access patrons by late Thursday.

The Future:

Going into the next few weeks and months, I do plan to start introducing more new content on Morrowind Modding Showcases. I have a number of new series planned, some of which I'll be going into more detail about in this Sunday's Behind the Scenes podcast video, but one I'd like to go ahead and announce is the Oblivion Mod of the Day.

With the success and ease of production of the Morrowind Mod of the Day videos, expanding that format to Oblivion seems like a potential solution to the lack of immediate Oblivion-related content on the channel. I've been getting a number of comments recently from people wanting more Oblivion modding related content, but since longer videos, like Cities of Cyrodiil and Oblivion House Mod Hunters, take more production time, it hasn't really been something I've been prioritizing.

But with a Mod of the Day format, we could easily start releasing three Oblivion videos a week, potentially on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7am EST/12pm GMT. That means there'd be at least two videos released on some days, but hopefully the 6-hour time gap, and the shorter nature of the Mod of the Day videos, will be enough to avoid audience fatigue.

I haven't started active production yet on the Oblivion Mod of the Day concept, but it is something I'd like to begin by the end of April, though if any of you have thoughts on the matter, I'd be more than happy to hear them!

Anyway, that's all for now, don't forget theme voting for Episode 75 starts on Thursday, and as always, stay safe, stay healthy, happy modding, and I'll see you next time!

Comments

Revisiting Oblivion is a good idea right now. Interest is rising as Skyblivion releases exciting milestones and folks who were kids a decade ago begin waxing nostalgic. Recently re-installed as well and while Oblivion is as much a bear to mod as ever I was surprised to see it wasn't all anime wifus over on Nexus ;) In particular the new NorthernUI with controller support is the bomb and looks fantastic on my tv

I reinstallled Oblivion last year, and while that modding community has been nowhere near as active as the MW Mod community, there were some new goodies to be had ,mostly replacers and the like from Bevilex's mod list, but also a few town/city mods of high quality I hadn't seen before and some updates to some of the bigger overhauls. Haven't been keeping tabs on things lately, but some Oblivion content is always appreciated. Your Cities of Cyrodiil series helped me build my load order last time around.
