In an attempt to counteract the rampant theft and leaking of art that I post here on Patreon-
I will now only be uploading finished pieces ($5 and $10 patron tier art) to a password protected Mega folder.
Sketches, polls, etc will still be posted here normally.

Here's how it will work:
1- Each month I will make an encrypted folder. When I finish an art piece I'll make a post to announce it and upload it to that folder.
2- I will provide a link and a password to the folder. (I have not fully decided on how to distribute this password yet, I may have to try a few things as we go)
3- At the end of the month the folder will be deleted and the art will be added to a big permanent Archive folder. (for you folks who like big archives)
I'll post a link to that Permanent Archive folder in a separate post shortly.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to answer as best I can.
I apologize, I can't be fully transparent about everything I plan to do, as that would make it too easy for any scalpers who are currently patrons or using software to strip posts off of Patreon to circumvent my ideas.

I'm doing this to hopefully stop a different method that I know is actively being used to scalp content from Patreon. I won't say what it is, for obvious reasons.

2023-08-04 12:10:22 +0000 UTCWith respect... if they're stealing your artwork and reposting it because they have a Patreon account, they'll still have access to the art to steal. Even more so in one big archive that you can just click "download" and Mega will zip it all up for them. I don't think there's any real way to prevent someone from downloading and reposting stuff if they have access to it here, Discord, Mega, etc. I enjoy seeing the images in the email notifications but I'm happy to click through to an archive if you think that'll help with the problem. But it seems like extra work work on your side for no extra protection.

2023-08-04 11:10:49 +0000 UTCI don't know how people go about getting art from various Patreons, so, I can't say if one method or another is better or worse, for sharing the password. But, a suggestion for a possible method of distribution could be either via Patreon's DM system, or even going another step further and making a Discord server which Patrons can join, and releasing the password in a tier locked channel. Be warned, though, if you do make a Discord server for that purpose, you will get bombarded with fans gushing about how amazing your art is. ;3 That said, I have no issue with your choice to do things this way. Plenty of other creators release their content in similar ways, such as links to monthly dropbox folders only certain tiers can see. I hope it achieves what you want it to. :)

2023-08-04 05:26:48 +0000 UTCPatreon has a DM option I’ve experienced other artists using in the past that seemed to work well for them at the time. There’s also the option of making a discord server and posting everything there. I’ve seen a couple that are just a bunch of art channels and you get kicked when you stop supporting if the artist doesn’t like talking
