I realize it’d probably be a bit too much like Outlaw King but there’s a recent movie from 2019 that’s written, produced, and staring Angus MacFadyen playing Robert that mostly takes place in the winter of 1313 and his relationship with a peasant family as a galvanizing influence in his struggle for independence. I don’t think it’s meant to be historically accurate but I appreciated it as a character piece if anyone is interested in seeing it.
