History Buffs: Bohemian Rhapsody (Part One)

Hey guys,

Here is part one of my Bohemian Rhapsody review. Part two will be out next Friday on October 30th. As always, thank you for your patience. Not gonna lie, this was the hardest review I've ever done. Suffered a lot of writer's block and it was tough figuring out what to say and for it to have meaning. However, I think this turned out quite decent in the end.

Thank you all so much for your support! Hope you enjoy :)

Hey mate, thanks for the comment! Really glad you liked the review. I was considering discussing Freddie's relationship with Jim Hutton, Barbara Valentin and so on but in the end this review was going on far too long anyway. I have never made a video over an hour long before and I already spent 4-5 months on it. In the end, it was just runtime.

Hey Nick! Longtime viewer but (I think) first-time commenter here. So first up, I love that you chose this movie! Queen is one of my favorite bands and having one of my favorite YouTube channels cover a movie based upon their story is a match made in heaven! By and large I really dug the review and the amount of detail you went into on the band's history and the liberties the movie took with them. I was so excited by this that immediately after finishing the first half of this review I jumped over to Nebula to watch the full thing. And while most of the ground you cover here was fantastic, there was one notable omission that I found rather curious. The movie unambiguously paints Freddie as gay, yet we know that even after his split with Mary Austin that he went on to have many more relationships with both men and women throughout the 70s and early 80s before more or less settling down with Jim Hutton in the last few years of his life (whom he met in a club when he was working as a hairdresser, not as a waiter at one of Freddie's parties as the movie portrays). Thought Freddie never explicitly confirmed a sexual identity during his lifetime, his pattern of relationships seems in line with our modern framing of either bisexuality or pansexuality. Given how controversial bisexual erasure is in the LGBTQ+ community is, I definitely wasn't expecting a conclusion to be asserted here but I am really surprised that it wasn't mentioned at all. Was this something that didn't make the cut due to runtime or was there another reason it wasn't addressed?

Not at all Nick, with multiple mediums and platforms available was wondering the differences/benefits really not about my support in general. I appreciate the quick reply and will explore the details around this nebula platform
