Introducing my newest Patreon Tier: Steak!

I've hinted that I plan to release another tier since I started the Shawerma Tier a few months ago, and here it is! You can now read Five chapters ahead for all of my stories with this tier.

For fans of Lament of Snow and Magic, you need not worry about losing access to early chapters, at least not yet. I plan to give you a month or two where members of Pizza Tier will still enjoy five early access chapters from Lament but then I will change it to match the rest of the stories.

Sometime in October or so.

Anyway, without further ado, enjoy!

Fair enough, you do what suits you. No 2 creative content creators (and writing is a creative process) are the same. As long as you enjoy it and it’s not affecting your bottom line (financially) then it doesn’t really matter what you decide to do.

Thank you for your thoughts, but you seem to misunderstand something. I do not do commissions. I do not ask my readers, or patrons, what they want to happen in the story, unless in extremely rare cases. I write for my own enjoyment, and even though I will not deny that Patreon had ended up being a far more lucrative venture for me than I imagined, the moment I start treating this like a true business and taking commissions to write things I would not enjoy, I know I will hate it really quickly and would end up losing all interest in writing. I also have to contend with the fact I have a full-time job and can only write for an hour or two a day unless it's on the weekends. The higher tiers are simply for those who can afford to support me more in exchange of reading ahead, but my highlighted tier for any newcomers is the Pizza tier. TLDR; Patreon is a side gig for me while I enjoy my hobby of writing. It's not a business, even if I will have to file taxes for it, so a simple and straightforward system like the current tiers suit me best.

I think adding more pay walls is a bad idea. I think the best model is to have a single tier (or 2 tops) that gives access to early chapters, then other tiers would give other benefits like commissions (doesn’t need to be commissions). With a few exceptions, that model seems to have the highest number of subscribers. When you are running a subscription based service you should aim for a large number of low paying users rather than a small number of high paying ones. That way if someone leaves it’s less impactful on you, and the low barrier for entry makes it easier for new people to join.
