And I mega-warmed to this version of God in this episode especially. Linda's life seems kinda exhausting between ( I assume?? ? ) working, primarily raising the child, and just... not really knowing what's happening. I do agree about Trixie. I didn't care much for that whole thing, but it was cool to see her and God relate symmetrically about not understanding those opposite perspectives in life. Lucifer will be Lucifer, of course. Very selfish, but he has his moments. Proud of Maze -- glad it didn't become an action situation cos of course she wasn't gonna kill him. Necessarily... She sorta stabbed that bed right quick without hesitation, so I doubt it absolutely certain she wouldn't have murdered him haha.

2021-08-10 19:46:36 +0000 UTCThese first few episodes of 5b remind me in a lot of ways of the first few episodes of S2. Back then, they were introducing us to Lucifer's mom, and laying important groundwork for later on in the season. They are a bit more low-key, especially after the emotional roller coaster of the S1 finale, but in hindsight they feel very necessary to understanding what comes later, when the plot really kicks into high gear and Mom starts shaking things up for everyone. These episodes introducing us to God are quite similar I think! More low-key after that big emotional whump in episode 8, but laying lots of important groundwork as we start moving into the last part of the season. When God says he's going to retire, I'm reminded of the moment when Mom said "when God closes a door, he opens a window". Things might start to move a bit more soon. Anyway, I'm loving all of your reactions so much, thank you for sharing and I can't wait to see the next!
