Rating - 7.5/10 - This rating my shock you, IDK, I love me some Gabriel & he's always fun to have on screen. My lower rating is more linked to the rewatchability factor & the fact that Gabriel's revenge plan seemed a little obvious in terms of getting the boys on board to help with their issue? It just didn't cut it for me. Seeing Gabriel & the boys in scenes is always enjoyable though, the humour is great & i'd like to see more of them working together for sure! I always love seeing Jack too so that held my attention as well :)

If this episode was able to go a little earlier in the season it would have been better. By episode 20 you want all episodes to be about the main plot. But Supernatural doesn't always do that. At least this season has 23 episodes. I think I like a lot of the Richard Speight Jr directed episodes. I can't believe you're almost near the end of the season... I'm looking forward to next weeks already!

Ok I'm sorry. About the episode, you're right, it was a bit obvious and forced. The episodes get better from here.

2021-04-27 13:58:20 +0000 UTCYeah this episode is kind of a miss but I do think it was amazing that richard speight was directing and playing two characters in this episode a talent, as much as I love gabriel i think his sacrifice at the end of season 5 was so important I am still not sure how I feel about his return

2021-04-27 09:52:44 +0000 UTCI agree with you 100 percent about this episode Dakara. There were some eliminates of the ep that slowed things down a bit for me. It always bothers me as well when the boys aren't on the same page about things. Dean needs to 1. Have more faith in Sam's abilities and 2. Put more value on his own life. It's stuff like this that always causes conflict in their relationship. He takes it upon himself to protect Sam with no regard for his own life. Then he doesn't give Sam the ability to choose for himself in these scenarios. Glad they had that discussion at the end of the episode and Sam basically said, we're doing this together because my life isn't more important than yours(that's my interpretation anyway lol). We're in it together..period. Another nice reaction from you as always! I hope you have a good week.

The one thing that is unique about this episode, is that Richard Speight had to direct the episode while also playing both Loki and Gabriel in the same scene so it was quite an amazing feat for him to pull off.

2021-04-26 23:21:53 +0000 UTCI'm with you, ok episode, but not a favorite. Loved the visual of Jack's wings wrapping around Mary to protect her. Dean can't lose Sam again, it is his meaning of existence, he thinks, and will do everything he can to protect him. The plot line with Gabriel and Loki was to try and explain how Azmodeus got a hold of Gabriel. Still not sure how Gabriel isn't dead after Lucifer killed him (saw the wings and everything, oh well it's TV). I like Gabriel so don't mind the little plot hole. Looking forward to your reactions to the next couple episodes.

2021-04-26 16:24:49 +0000 UTCI haven't watched your reaction yet, but just wanted to say that your rating doesn't surprise me. I remember not liking that they retconned Gabriel's history with Loki. Took some of the magic and wit out of it.
