Weekly WIP 4

Well here we are at the end of the first month of 2022! Bit of a quiet week in terms of new art, mostly because the root canal I've been putting off until I could afford to have it done finally let me know that I'm out of time to delay 😣

Been trying to comfort myself a bit by drawing this pic of Steph enjoying some coffee and watching the snow. I also wanted to revisit her design because the next comic will be introducing her and Emily.

I want to do something for next month in the valentines theme and I've had a few ideas for it. The one I like most is something that I think would be a great idea for a much larger artist and probably wouldn't actually be worth it for someone at my level, but I think it would be a fun little gimmick to do a Ko-fi integration thing where people can "take my OC out for a coffee date" by setting it up so anyone that donates to my Ko-fi page during February would get sent a POV pic of one of my OC's sitting across from them at a café drinking coffee 😅
Like I said, this probably isn't a great idea for someone with a following as small as mine since I'd probably only get a few dollars for a set of drawings that I can't share publicly and only a handful of people would get to experience it, but I still think it's a cute idea.

Also in Feb I want to officially switch this Patreon over to an actual tier structure and get it all set up properly. I'll make sure to do it in a way that anyone with the early birb level can keep it going forward even though it won't be available to new patrons.

That's it for this week, happy Lunar New Year everyone and see you all next month!

Ouch, that sucks, sorry to hear :/ Hope it doesn't give you too much trouble until then and your commissions stay strong! I'm getting excited thinking about the follow up to the last big one, and looks like February things will all fall into place with end of year bills getting whittled down. On Ko-Fi, I 100% see the fit, I just also happen to browse /r/choosingbeggars and see how a lot of people treat artists. Just seems to be a lot of people out there that want maximum effort, but pay bottom dollar and it sucks to see. But it is a really great idea, and would be a great way to practice different expressions :) Definitely looking forward to what the next stops bring :) If I could have a moment to be selfish, I'd love to see a comfy bush to accompany a comfy top 😉

Kinda missed the boat on getting the tooth fixed unfortunately 😭 Was hoping I could get enough saved before it started hurting but alas. Made an appointment to just get it extracted in two weeks (which is somehow still costing me $1200, but still better than 5 times as much to get it fixed) . I think by default Ko-fi has a minimum of $3, but the main draw is that the idea of "buy X a coffee" is built right into the site itself so it goes well with the idea 😅 Also, if you like the bottomless train, there are a few more stops coming up in the near future 😉

Tooth pain is in a whole class by itself, I just couldn't even think straight when it was happening to me, so sorry you are going through that. Although if it's any comfort, when you do have the procedure done, it really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. I was worried as hell going into it the first time, and really the worst part was the taste of bleach when they flush out the tooth. Spoiler - bleach tastes TERRIBLE. Otherwise a breeze. As far as the coffee date idea, it does sound interesting, but might be best to make a minimum donation level? Not sure if you can do that on Ko-Fi or not, but maybe do it as a type of adoptable auction? Draw up each character, set a price, and then people can adopt them? Lastly, love the WIP... good to see the bottomless train going strong! Happy Lunar New Year :)
