First of all I wanted to say a big thank you to those of you that have been supporting me here in these early stages, it means a lot to me 🥰
As the new year approaches, I've been thinking about about what to do with this Patreon space, I definitely need to grow it so that I can move toward doing art full time and creating more content for people to enjoy. So I wanted to ask, what kinds things you would like to see here?
Would you want a Discord to hang out in (with a private channel for patreon members)? Priority access to commission slots? Early access to art? Work in progress stuff?
Anything cool you've seen on someone else's Patreon, or any other ideas you have at all are welcome, I'm new to this whole game!
One thing I'm experimenting a bit with is "unlockable variants" like with the Zelda pic I'm working on. I'll post the base version on twitter and the rest here, but then posting some of the variants later on if the original post reaches certain retweet milestones.
I kind of like the idea of putting stuff here first and then posting them publicly a while later (in the way that bartolomeobari does) but I'm not sure, it's difficult to balance avoiding a pay-wall and also making the Patreon have value.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts and again thank you so much for being here during my awkward first steps into trying to do this for a living!

Oh, the Patreon exclusive watermark is probably a good idea 🤔 I hadn't thought of posting WIP of commission stuff either, I should add a question on the request sheet asking if people are ok with me sharing that, thanks for the idea! I'll definitely try to post more sketches/WIP stuff here too, maybe a "WIP Wednesday" thing where I give an update on what I'm working on that week.

2021-12-24 21:13:04 +0000 UTCThe unlockable variants are a nice idea! And I do see Patreon-first, twitter-second content being a sustainable model. Especially if the Patreon-first editions were a higher resolution of your drawings and commissions. Tweak your signature just a bit to watermark that it's a Patreon-only version, maybe add a star in the P or simply a "Patreon Exclusive" text watermark? And the bonus here is it isn't adding much workload, while giving value/exclusivity and an incentive for others to join. Plus you can crop out a preview and post to your feed, build some anticipation. And speaking of that, WIP & random sketches are nice too! Just seeing some sketches and progress all the way is really fun! I really like the step from rough sketch to clean lines, fascinating every time. And I am not sure about others, but I would 100% encourage posting of any WIP material of commissions I'm doing.
