Part 1 of making a frankish seax

This is going to be pretty cool.  i needed a project to dust off the cob webs from my surgery and damn how i throw the hammer has really changed.  its going to take a while to build those muscles back up.

Remember this video is for you and not for sharing.

Glad to see you back to your craft again--I'm not surprised that you find yourself working differently after the surgery and the time away. I can very much appreciate the desire to kick off the rust and get back to work. That being said, coming home from work to curl up with a mug of tea and watch you find the shape of the metal's soul is calming, almost meditative. Thank you once again for sharing your process, and I look forward to your future efforts!

I was thinking how your videos will be the reference material if civilization ever has to start over. I mean, compared to an iron age blacksmith, modern age blacksmithing has got to be a walk in the park, with the fancy tools and materials available and ready to be heated and beaten to form. But starting from absolute scratch as you do? I don't know about anybody else, but I'm very impressed how smart those folks were thousands of years ago.
