Help a writer out.

No charge for this post as it is not a story chapter but a plea for a little help. Okay, loyal patrons who know more about the details of this story than I do. I know that some people in their lives have been informed of the real situation between Jake, Laura, and Celia. Is Steph from Brainwash one of them, or is she just one of the ones who has been told they are simply divorces and living together. If you find a passage either way, please respond with the chapter and a sentence I can use in the find box.

Steph, a female, with all that entails has her suspicions but cannot be positive. Curiosity is running rampant. The lengths she goes to in order to confirm her suspicions could be quite hilarious.

Again, Steph is aware of the sexual relationship. I'm just talking about the actual marriage/divorce/baby deal.

Al Steiner

I just noticed that you switched from spelling Doug's band "Jordon" in chapt 19 to "Jordan" in chapt 20. Sorry I missed that in the first round. Hopefully you caught it in the final pass before you turned it into an e-book.

Steph definitely has figured it out, but she hasn't had any confirmations from Jake, Laura, or Celia. However, Steph is/was a teacher who had to conceal her sexual preferences, so she respects their privacy. Too bad you can't hook up Steph and Fly Girl somehow (hint, hint). And it will be fun to see what Greg thinks when it's finally revealed. In Book VI, chap 19... “About that,” Jake replied with a shrug. “It’s a nice place though. Has a really bitchin’ swimming pool.” “It’s January,” Steph pointed out. “Isn’t that a little cold for swimming?” She was baiting her boss, of course. Though there had still been no out and out admission about what was going on between the Kingsleys and Celia Valdez, it was quite obvious nonetheless. Steph was actually quite intrigued by the relationship—especially the thought of Laura and Celia getting it on—and she knew that Jake and Laura and Celia knew that she knew what the score was. It seemed like they were playing a friendly little game with her to see how long it would take her to just comeout and ask for confirmation. “Yes, it is,” Jake agreed. “The middle of winter.” “And you have a pool at the Granada Hills house, don’t you? You know, one that’s inland and more likely to be warm enough to swim in?” “That’s right,” Jake confirmed. “But it’s not as cool of a pool as C’s.” “I see,” she’d replied.

While she and Jake were somewhat close during his tour, I don’t recall her being in the “confidante” category and being let in on the truth

Fletcher Corrin

You strongly implied she was aware of it during Jake's 2000 tour (rereading that portion of the story right now) - implying she was aware, envious - along with possibly hooking up with Tif. (hasn't happened yet but if memory serves, it does) but I don't think it has been actually stated yet.

I realize that.. conversation or hints prior to that with Brainwash prior

Russ Wideman

Having recently done. A binge read, I can confidently state you didn't address this specifically.

VT

I don't think I ever have either. Let's see how this turns out.

Al Steiner

I do not believe you ever specifically addressed this.

Roger

I understand she is aware that there is a sexual relationship going on between the three of them. I just can't remember if they ever actually confessed the whole divorce/marriage/baby/divorce scheme to her. That's my sticking point at the moment. I'll just write with my gut and if I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

Al Steiner

I will review that chapter, but Steph was not at the wedding or in the discussion involved about it.

That should be vvvv… what he said

Russ Wideman

^^^^what he said, I would think that if it was anywhere, it would be on the chapter when Jake and Celia got Married in providence

I've searched all of your chapters and found no reference to Steph in any discussion of Jake, Laura, and Celia's actual relationship. She's not even mentioned in any of the chapters related to the divorce, remarriage, or Celia having a child. I did my search on a Mac. The finder app searches for both file names and contents unless you just ask it to list file names. I found a reference to "Steph" in 40 of your chapters, but some were not the Brainwash Steph - e.g. references to Stephen Hawking.
