Oh yeah, I usually check the values with a grayscale filter in Photoshop at the end, and fix any imbalances as best I can - usually with a Levels filter, or by lightening the darkest black and then a levels filter. Low contrast is a thing I usually have to wrestle with. All my values end up being too close together. (Another thing a Levels adjustment can help with.)

Hi Crowne! I definitely relate to a lot of what you said in the video! Watching speedpaints is a great way to learn and open up to different art technics and for me even how to use a certain software better ^^ I heard that painting over a gray-scale drawing with colors can get your colors bland and washed out but painting without gray-scale can get your values off so you just have to battle with the drawing haha What I do is paint with colour and occasionally put a black and white filter over it to see how my values are doing. Anyway the painting turned out so well!! I love the way you draw pones!!
