So… I was kicking back and watching a nature documentary today. One of the segments was about a bird. The male spends his entire adulthood building the nest, and when he finds a mate, he spends all of his time protecting her, taking care of her.
The problem is, they get so focused on this that they forget to take care of themselves. Their tunnel vision is so strong that most of the time, the male dies of starvation because he was so fixated on taking care of his mate.
Kinda reminded me of you. Neglecting yourself in favor of taking care of others. Starving yourself emotionally just to ensure others are okay. But how much longer can you pour before your cup is empty? You need to let someone fill it back up for you.
It’s okay to take a knee sometimes. You don’t have to run yourself ragged patching every hole you find. Everything has a crack in it. That’s how the light gets in.
