│3rd Person POV │
[Underworld Realm, New Lilith, Lucifer Castle…]
As Serafall and Meliodas teleported directly into the Conference Room, they saw that the other three Satans—Sirzechs Lucifer, Ajuka Beelzebub, and Falbium Asmodeus—were already seated.
With a frown, Falbium read the report that Sirzechs handed over to him after he arrived, his usual sleepy demeanor nowhere to be seen.
“What's going on?” Serafall asked as she settled herself on Meliodas’ lap who sat on the chair designated for Serafall. Even in this serious situation, she retained her characteristic cheer, though it was noticeably subdued compared to her usual exuberance.
In response to her question, Falbium silently handed over the report he had just finished reading. Serafall took the report and began reading. It didn’t take her long to find out the reason Sirzechs called for an emergency meeting.
Meanwhile, Meliodas had been inquiring about the situation from Aurora using Parallel Calculation from the time they emerged from the Teleportation Spell.
‘So it’s finally happening.’ Meliodas thought to himself.
Serafall looked up from the report and remarked, “So, the head of the Naberius Clan was killed by his own Bishop, and now the other High-Class Devils are in an uproar over it.”
“That’s correct.” Sirzechs nodded solemnly, “The Bishop in question is a Nekoshou, a rare variant of the Nekomata species. After she fled the scene, her younger sister was captured by another member of the Naberius Clan.
“They’ve called for a Council Meeting to hold a trial for the younger Nekoshou.”
“What? Why? Have the Naberius Clan lost their minds?” Serafall exclaimed, her disbelief evident. She couldn’t wrap her head around Sirzechs’ statement. Holding the younger sister responsible for the elder's actions was utterly nonsensical.
“The Naberius Clan claims the Nekoshou Bishop went mad, drunk on her own power, and lost control due to Senjutsu,” Sirzechs elaborated grimly. “Their argument is that the younger sister, being a Nekoshou as well, poses a similar threat and could go crazy in the future. They are pushing to execute her preemptively.”
Serafall’s outrage only deepened. This rationale was absurd, even for the often ruthless politics of the Underworld.
“The situation is worsening rapidly.” Ajuka suddenly spoke up, attracting the other Satans’ attention.
While looking at the report he just received from his subordinates, he explained, “One of the Naberius Clan members is leading a group of High-Class Devils to hunt down other Nekoshou Yokai within the territory of the Devils.
“My subordinates have been tracking the group and their current location shows that they are nearing the territory of Zagan Clan.”
Immediately, the Satans looked at Meliodas. Contrary to their expectations, Meliodas was completely calm, not showing even a hint of anger.
Seeing them look over, Meliodas asked, “What?”

│1st Person POV of Meliodas │
“Did you hear what Ajuka just said?” My Father-in-Law asked.
I nodded calmly in response and stood up, prompting Serafall to stand up as well.
It wasn’t that the situation didn’t bother me—it most certainly did. It was just that, I knew that this incident would happen and had Aurora prepare for the situation.
Had I known that Kuroka's King was from the Naberius Clan, I would have acted much sooner. I would have taken Kuroka and her sister under my protection, one way or another before Kuroka ended up killing the Naberius Clan Head.
Unfortunately, my meta-knowledge from my previous life was incomplete. In my past life, I had only watched the High School DxD anime and read the Slash Dog Novels. Nowhere in both of these series had it ever been mentioned who Kuroka’s King was.
The Essence of the Archmage gave me Perfect Memory, however, if I didn’t have the knowledge in the first place, how could I recall it? Perfect Memory allows me to remember everything I’ve learned, every detail, but it doesn’t grant me new information I’ve never encountered.
Other things like the relationship between Cleria and Masaomi, and Cleria getting killed due to finding out about the King Piece, I only knew about those events because of stumbling across a Reddit post about Diehauser betraying the New Satans once. The post explained the reasons behind his actions.
Through my research in Senjutsu, I discovered that for a Nekoshou to go mad by using Senjutsu was nigh impossible. So, I hypothesized that there must have been other reasons behind Kuroka’s actions.
That’s why, I wanted to find their King before the incident happened. However, despite her efforts, Aurora didn’t find any trace of information about any High-Class Devil recruiting a pair of Nekoshou Sisters.
Anyway, as I cast the Teleportation Spell, I declared, “If these bunch of good for nothing “Noble” Devils think that they can brazenly enter my territory and act as they please without any consequences, they are in for a rude awakening.”
In the next moment, a flash of golden-yellow light signaled my arrival in the military outpost on the outskirts of the Zagan Clan’s territory.
The military outpost was strategically positioned to patrol the border with its primary purpose being to ensure that no Hell Beasts breached the boundary and wreaked havoc on the surrounding farmlands.
The fertile farmlands of the Zagan Clan often attract powerful Hell Beasts, drawn by the crops cultivated there. Unfortunately, the Low-Class Devils tending to the fields lack the strength to defend themselves against such creatures. To safeguard the region, military outposts like this one are stationed along the borders of the territory.
Stepping out of the teleportation chamber, I found myself face to face with a white-haired, white-eyed cat woman standing at attention. This was Momo, the Guard Commander of the outpost.
Even though I couldn’t find any news about Kuroka and Shirone, I attempted to find them through other means in the past few years, hoping that they weren’t recruited in a Peerage yet.
To achieve this goal, I persuaded Mother to recruit Nekoshou people as border patrol guards, emphasizing the numerous benefits of such a decision. As a high-level Yokai species, Nekoshou possesses exceptional talents in both Senjutsu and Youjutsu arts.
With minimal training, they would be ideally suited for the responsibilities of border patrol, offering unparalleled efficiency in tracking and skills in managing potential threats.
With Mother’s permission, advertisements were placed throughout the Underworld, announcing that the Zagan Clan was actively recruiting Nekoshou Yokai for positions as border patrol guards. The roles came with generous wages and benefits, designed to attract as many candidates as possible.
Within a few months, almost a dozen Nekoshou from across the Underworld answered the call. Most of them were orphans, born in the Underworld and lacking the means to go to the Human World.
To survive, they had been doing odd jobs here and there, facing discrimination and getting exploited by the Devils who hired them.
Although Kuroka and Shirone were not among those who arrived seeking the job, I wasn’t overly disappointed.
Gaining nearly a dozen talented Nekoshou to work for my family was far from a loss.
I personally took charge of their training in Senjutsu and Youjutsu. Over the course of a few years, their strength improved significantly, with even the weakest among them reaching the peak of High-Class.
Momo, for instance, stood at the middle of the group, boasting strength at the Low-Ultimate Class level. Similarly, the other Nekoshou were assigned various roles at guard outposts along different sections of the Zagan Clan’s border, ensuring that their talents were effectively utilized in securing our territory.
As soon as Momo's gaze landed on me, she gave a respectful bow and spoke in a calm, professional tone, “Good evening, Master Meliodas. May I ask the reason for your unexpected visit?”
“Good evening, Momo.” I returned the greeting before answering her question, “Some pests are coming this way and you all don’t have the qualifications to deal with them. I will personally take care of them. In the meantime, ensure your team remains focused on their duties and accompany me.”
“As you command, Master Meliodas,” Momo replied with a respectful bow.
I gave a brief nod and began heading toward the watchtower, with Momo following closely behind.
As we walked, Momo activated a Communication Spell, relaying instructions to her subordinates and briefing them on the situation at hand.
