The war machine does not want to use any of her powers anymore for fear that they'll hurt people, but the sub teaches and guides it and eventually the war machine learns to control her weapons/powers and eagerly accepts her new role.

Imagine a cold, logical robot girl, unable to feel emotions or experience touch, willingly let herself be infested by a hive mind so she can have the sensations she's always been denied. I think there's potential with fleshy tendrils piercing her flawless metal body, spreading through her like roots and penetrating her circuits. She knows how horrible an idea it is, how illogical, but she can't stop herself.

I could see it played as like- teasingly reducing the cyborg's functionality and playfully reminding her of her limitations vs the androids expanding suite of abilities. I'd have to put some thought into how to make it soft, it immediately brings harsher ideas to mind but I know it's got soft potential
