No more 'Anti-Smoking' comments, please

Dearest Patrons, this is something that’s been on my mind for a while, and with our growing community, I’d like to address this issue today. 

As we all know, our main man Tora smokes. Sometimes heavily, sometimes not. Before addressing anything further, I’d like to stress that I am not advocating or endorsing the act of smoking. Just like how I do not endorse other illegal/criminal acts that are sometimes depicted in MPL. These are all parts of the story; likewise, Tora’s smoking habit is a literary/plot device - among many other things, it often signifies his level of stress and anxiety, and is an ‘intimidation’ tactic he employs.  

Because of this character trait, the topic of smoking IRL is *edit* sometimes brought up in the comments section, and this is what I’d like to address. 

It is a known fact that smoking is a harmful habit to the smoker and the people around them, so I’m not here to discuss any of that. We can all agree and acknowledge that this is true, and there are no two ways about it. However, as with all other kinds of comments expressing hatred towards any kinds of behaviour, I would like to respectfully request for such comments towards the act of smoking, and smokers, to stop.

For one, as much as it is a widely known fact, it is also your personal preference that has little to do with the story. For another, I do believe there are a number Patrons that do smoke, among us. And however harmful a habit it is, nobody wants to read about how much they’re hated on. It is hurtful, and it feels discriminatory. 

I try to allow for all forms of opinions as much as I can - as long as everything is respectfully worded, all comments are welcome. But this is a line I'd like to draw, and you are always free to air your grievances and distaste on the act of smoking anywhere else. From here on, any comments expressing strong dislike and/or hatred towards the act of smoking and smokers will be removed.
