Drawing Ari

A few days ago I have drawn @ari_magical_life on a court card.

I thought I’d share a rough outline of the steps from start to the finished card with you.

In my previous post about a court card, I mentioned that I usually start by outlining the face. Instead of tracing the outlines, I often remove everything around them and then begin drawing the clean lines. However, in this case, that first step wasn't necessary at all. I jumped straight into drawing the clean lines. This was partly because the photo quality was excellent and partly because Ari is one of those people who, for some reason, have an inherently high recognition factor when drawn in the style of a playing card.

The image above is a screenshot of the file where I created the card. It clearly illustrates how surprisingly few steps were needed to achieve the final design.
