Black Polyantha Court Cards

The work on the Edelrot campaign is pretty time consuming and healthwise I have to fight some aches and pains. Nothing dramatic, but it robs me a lot of strength. Anyway, I wasn’t lazy in the last few days. I designed a new Orbit deck that you’ll see this October and I added quite a few new card reveals on the Black Polyantha courts. Your interest in the last post motivated me to really print the deck. There will be only 500 which will be Patreon exclusive but I’ll talk about it more in detail in a different post.
At the moment I'm not sure which gaff cards I want to put in the deck. I have added two gaffs for 3 Card Monte but I’m already thinking way too long about the other two gaffs. I’ll remove the two Jokers to have more space for the gaffs. I simply think they are more useful in a deck like this.
If you have any gaff ideas, let me know in the comments and feel free to let me know what you think about the reveals. A few of the reveals are too fancy so that I probably wouldn’t use them in the regular Black Roses Playing Cards. But this project helps me to be a little more creative again and not think too much about everything - except the gaff cards.. :D

2022-06-23 20:22:52 +0000 UTCI’m not the biggest fan of double facers as an extra card because it always looks like one card is face up in the deck 😂 But I thought about one for this deck because of the 3 Card Monte effect. But in this deck it‘s not possible because of the black borders. The cards get cut without any space between them. That sadly makes it impossible to print cards with a white back. A small black border would be visible on the side. Or a white stripe on the back of the black back right next to it.

For one of the gaff cards, I was thinking about some Cardini change kind of sleight where the revealed back of the card shows the selected card's suit and value like a constellation through the symbols.. does it make sense?

Also any card where I can give it away as a souvenir like moving rose or angle z, are awesome additions. Still like to see an angle z card where the corner is restored backwards one of these days.

2022-06-23 19:39:29 +0000 UTCWell first thing pop in my head immediately was in the Q if Hearts instad of the card on the back of the iPhone (which in my design option can make it bit confusing to understand its an iphone) In the middle of the robe the is a line and mushroom & square that easily can be designed as a card reveal its the perfect place for one
