0055 - TV Phone Calls

I add to this list: Oncoming drivers whom you move aside to let pass on a narrow street yet fail to wave. People who bring dogs into coffee shops and don't notice your glaring. Ship captains who gaze inscrutably into the distance instead of saying, "The sea is me soul's final keep, the briney me sheet as I sleep."

What is your pet peeve you should probably get over?

When there is a comfortably wide path but the oncoming person steps to the side to wait like you have greatly inconvenienced them, and then they WAVE YOU THROUGH a two person path.

Hilary Kitz

No kidding? I’ve never watched that show but now I’m their biggest fan.

Omurice

I can thank 30 Rock for never allowing me forget that it is, in fact, "champing."

Mackenzie Guillory

When a car pulls up to a stop sign first, but waves you ahead. Like, dude: you are overcomplicating an extremely simple process, for which easily-digestible rules already exist.

Meeee!

He's got his Depressed Eyes on

Oppido

Money!!!

Aaron G. Stock

Bluey, just a hunch

Lionstooth

Yes. Is it really perfect, sir? Is it? No, it is not.

Donald Turnbaugh

There are good Drugs out there that will accomplish this.

Donald Turnbaugh

::Cornelius Bear voice:: it drives me batty when people mispronounce 'February'. / bear It's already the worst month, this is just an extra bonus pain in my earballs.

Brody

I just like to assume they're all baby kangaroos gone missing.

Brody

When completing an order at a restaurant the server says "perfect".

lohohonez

Yeah that’s no good. And as much as I enjoy contemplating it in theory, dogs in grocery stores, that’s gotta be a hard “no”.

Matt Mitchell

But otherwise, you gotta take her in and risk annoying Onstad.

lohohonez

After Beef's comment about the brain tumor, Philippe is for sure thinking about his mom's postcard in that last row of panels.

Oppido

Some dictionaries already included "approximately" in the definition of "literally." That's where I gave up.

toby x

Sometimes I think that Roast Beef and Piglet take turns being my spirit animal.

Ollin Williams

The astoundingly boring conversations I find myself trapped in now that we're all middle-aged. Every conversation is kids, health problem, or investments. Makes me long for death

Jenn

Yo I hate "literally"

Jenn

I do not like deer. I got home from work today and was walking to my back door sort of spaced out and looking at the ground and I looked up and there were ten fucking deer in my backyard about seven feet away and it scared the living shit out of me. And they had the gall to be staring at me with their eyes like "oh my god is he going to hurt us." Run the fuck away then, deer! Really this is not the deer's fault and I should build a fence or spray fox urine on all my plants if I don't want them coming around.

Nicholas Williams

"ATM machine." What do you think that M stands for?

AzureSP

he's the guy who sucks, plus he's got depression

J Hardy Carroll

"I could care less." Good, try caring less... Over there. Away from me.

W. C.

I was just getting used to that and now people use it to mean “unreasonable”

Peter Bailey

I argue there are some things he should put a little more thought into. See: his relationship with Molly.

Jacquelyn R Walters

Jesus CHRIST Beef, you're gonna give the child a Condition

Josh Egbert

If this is what Beef feels when “bugged,” his “happy” probably still registers a negative number on a 1-to-10 scale. Oh wait, we have recent comic proof of exactly that.

Cody Richmond

I’m glad/distressed to hear it’s not just a localized issue.

Cody Richmond

And "literally" was beaten so badly its accepted colloquial definition is now literally figuratively The world spins mad

Formica

The little otter is saddened by the realization tha the older cat has some severe mental issues that inform even the most mundane of experiences

Brian Brake

Roast Beef should avoid thinking about anything, ever.

J Hardy Carroll

But why is “Good bye” so hostile sounding?

Cf Duddy

I am forever incensed that "irregardless" was mistakenly used so much that it became a "real" word, purporting to have the exact same meaning as "regardless." I recognize that language evolves over time, but this is like the French Bulldog of English language evolution: an ugly mistake that has been taken too far.

2scrogz

not sure where you’re posting from but as an american i feel like americans are just terrible listeners all around

Cy Heffley

When someone uses the phrase "out of pocket" to mean "out of office" or "difficult to reach." Everyone has suddenly begun doing this and it drives me to distraction. "Out of pocket" refers to a direct expense you must pay.

Kate S.

I have spent too much social capital countering McDonalds Coffee Lady slander

The solution: Irish Traveller accents for everyone

Sesame Street

Alex Woods

We evolved past that response over two generations of interlopers making themselves victims of Satanist human sacrifice or very unwanted third parties in drug deals.

Eric Boesch

People raised in big loud families had to interrupt in order to be heard, that kind of habit can be hard to unlearn.

Meadow Green

I would be much more likely to answer a ringing pay phone than my own phone

kdusjjdhxksj

Love the absolute casual matter-of-fact look on Beef's face here.

GruntyGinMan

It's a Fuck My Life Friday!

b.zap

People who tie up their dogs in their front yards, and then get mad at you for walking your dog across the street from their house because their dog started barking

Nikita Fedorov

People who use the word chomping instead of champing at the bit. Champing is a great descriptive verb, show some goddamn respect.

Omurice

people talking over each other instead of shutting the fuck up and waiting their turn you are not in that much of a hurry you are not that important thats a human being whos trying to communicate with you quit listening with your mouth

Zen Window

My thing is when someone answers a ringing payphone in a movie. Who does that. Who has ever done that.

jacob moore

White people talking about how they prepare coffee. (To be considered a good conversationalist: simply listen intently. People will start to seek your company.)

A. Hamster

Dogs tied up outside of large grocery stores on busy streets. I understand some/most legitimate scenarios lead to this, but it still bugs me.

Matt Mitchell

My ex does this, person on the other end says Bye and receives an indulgent "OOH-kay" or "mmmmhM", it's like "Yeah the convo is over, let's not drag it out"

Yelahneb Unicornucopiax

Very curious as to what show brought Beef and Philippe together in front of the same screen.

Oppido

Prions. Like, what the hell?

Julie (HiDeeHoGal)

Plus he’s got depression

Matt Mitchell

Roast Beef is the guy who sucks.

Matthew Harris

Lately, people have been queueing at bars at shows instead of just bellying up. It's weird.

Linus Lee

I recently moved to PDX and the Narrow Street Fail to Wave makes sense to me for the first time. My dog is coming into the coffee dealership with me. He's a good boy. Can't say for sure about anyone else in the coffee dealership so glare if you will.

BootsMcGuffin

it bugs me when people on tv walk up to the bar to order A Beer

Shawn Warren

Keep on rockin', Roast Beef.
