A. C.

as someone who has one grandma with dementia/alzheimer's and another who had a bad stroke(and thus their connection to this thin fabric we call reality has become spottier than the shitty cellular reception my house has) this one hurts

drrockso20

Into the envelope...he goes...

Joe Locastro

ROUGH. CHUCKLES.

Nicholas Williams

Goddamn man.

Benjamin Fischer

THAT is the saddest thing, Philippe.

KMan

Welcome to the only game in town.

Joshua M

Todd's count of doing "the other thing" is well into the double-digits by now

Spyguitar

When you punch a guy on the erection, do you jab (requires more precision, causes more pain) or hook (causes amusing, doorstop-like "sproing")

Spyguitar

Philippe's going to run for president again on a platform of MART (Moms Always Remembering Things).

Oppido

Huuuuuuuugs!

Day 9 is a "Requiem for a Dream" cross-cut of Little Nephew getting electroshock therapy, Ramses having an arm amputated, Andy the robot on a prison work gang, and Todd and Blister doing the other thing.

Oppido

day 4: ray loses his feet from diabetes day 5: roast beef goes for a walk, emeril and spongebath's graves in the background as he walks by day 6: 2 empty panels; 3rd panel is just teodor's legs hanging day 7+: hiatus all in good fun though love you chris and hope you are doing well this holiday season

Datura

Went through this the last few years. Only game in town, I guess.

kdusjjdhxksj

Yeah, I want Onstad to write what he wants to write, not steer things in a direction he doesn't believe in. If this is where he's at, I'm on board. A line that's stayed with me for, I guess, 13 years now: "Life is cruel, but at least it is life, at least for a while."

Oppido

You are...our sentence of the week.

GruntyGinMan

Congratulations Jesus Christ Instead

GruntyGinMan

Awesome thing to read as I get ready to drive my elderly mother across country tomorrow. Just super.

GruntyGinMan

It's 2023 and to think that our favorite Achewood friends are somehow totally insulated from the vicissitudes of fate is foolishness. This is real, and I'm here for it.

Nate

Pistachios!

b.zap

By the time we get to the December strip there will be no heart left to break

C.F. FROST

Maybe Philippe's mom needs activities

I called my mom and talked with her for like an hour after reading this one. Because of reading this one.

Max Kreisky

This is a lot for the little shaver. He's only 5.

Paul

Well, I laughed.

Stuart Gipp

Are you OK, Onstad?

Peter Bailey

Onstad you bastard

Ben Sunshine-Hill

Philippe is just pure goodness.

Julie (HiDeeHoGal)

overclocking my SOSAD lamp to deal with these updates

professor husband

_Right_ on the erection, no glancing strikes.

Anthony Thompson

What the hell, man?

RBM

Jesus fucking christ. On lighter news, I checked my database, and in the original days of Achewood, circa 2001, Achewood updated every weekday. That was its most frequent update schedule. Since these twelve days of Christmas strips have been uploaded over the weekend, I'm assuming they'll continue to be uploaded daily for the next nine days. This means we're currently in a period of the most frequent Achewood comic updates in its entire 22 year history. 12 strips in 12 days has never happened before. I hope this helps Philippe and you come to terms with the only game in town.

Bungus Bronbo

“Lie Bot, what is the saddest thing?” “Not yet, but soon.”

Sean Wolf

Some rough chuckles

Matt Mitchell

Good lord

Adam Fastman

I'm hoping all this bleakness is just seasonal for our crew, and that with April comes lots of slide whistles and men being punched on the erection.

Oppido

😿💙

Phillipe is actually 17 years old, his mom just keeps telling him "he is five" :(

Tom Simmons

Home is not a place, 'ees a feeling

Josh Egbert

I'm glad we don't really know why Philipe is still in Achewood
