Proposed Box Design for Oni Anthology, Vol 1 (RIP)

This was the proposed wraparound design for the box that would hold the ultra-luxe edition of volume one of the Achewood anthology that Oni was producing. The volume would come in three trim levels: Ultra-luxe (boxed, signed and numbered, with tip-in original illustration), Luxe (embossed hardcover), and Standard (paperback). Something like that...don't hold me to it. It's been a few years, and there were a lot of details.

This clever design displays a timeline of the contents contained therein. Something about coming up in the age of digital illustration tools fostered within me a love of tiny, precise lines. These days, I like a bunch of unruly, feeling lines. Not so much that anal-retentive, control freak shit. But who knows, maybe it'll swing back the other way, when I see what a hash those unruly, feeling lines have made of my life.

Ah, those heady pre-Covid days when we had a team of five working daily on the anthology series. Oh, ah.

Depends on your religion I think

Sedric And Charlie

Are you doing anything wrong right now, Sedric and Charlie?

Is there a special tier where you can pay to access the parallel universe where all of these projects actually achieved fruition?

Realizing the anthology was taken off of Oni's site was one of the darkest moments of the pandemic, for me.

Howdy, I really do hope something like this happens. I lost my entire collection of books to a house fire a while back, and I would gladly shell out real American dollars for a complete collection like this.

Bob Montgomery

I just got REALLY sidetracked there by the realisation that there's a "Sgt. Bill Callahan" in Achewood

Sedric And Charlie

it has been a week of loss and mourning around our place, and seeing all these Achewoods That Might Have Been has been both elegiac and comforting. Nothing gold can stay, Ponyboy.

Would do so many things for an actual printed anthology

Ben Morrison

Ah.

Any hope of a published Achewood collection yet, even crowd-funded?
