November Update

Thank you all so much for your support this month!  I hope you all had a safe, fun and spooooky Halloween!

I have so much to share, so let’s start with a quick review of October.  Specifically…

Kinktober was an exciting project that definitely needed more planning and prep.  Basically, I needed all of September to prepare for it, but I only had the last week or so.  It was a last minute idea, but I’m really glad I gave it a go.  It was a fantastic creative exercise and it was a lot of fun!  It also left me with a treasure trove of fresh ideas to warm up with, so you can expect more in the future.

In the end I only managed to complete eleven out of thirty-one illustrations, but I’m very pleased with all of them!  I would have done a lot more if it hadn’t been for the bathroom faucet.

Oh yeah, about that...my wife noticed a small leak in one of the bathroom faucets.  It looked like it was going to be an easy fix so I made it my ‘weekend warrior’ project.  Figured it would take a couple hours, but I blocked off a whole afternoon to work on it, just in case.

It took five days.

Long story short, I wound up replacing both faucets, both drains, all of the the pipes under the counter, everything but the sinks themselves.  It was just one thing after another. I'd fix one thing and then something else would leak or snap off. I don’t know how many trips to the hardware store I made. It’s all fine now, but it cost me so much time and killed any momentum I had for Kinktober.  Such a waste of a week.

Fortunately, I was able to draw and have fun over on the Art Stream.  That really helped me destress.  Speaking of which…

…I’ve been doing a lot more Art Streams on Picarto.tv and have really been enjoying them.  It’s fun to hang out, chat about the comic as well as other things; comics, animation, movies, music, games, card tricks, etc.

An unforeseen side effect is that it’s kind of become my main way of communicating with followers, which is not good since I only get a handful of people following the stream which leaves everyone else out of the loop.  So expect at least a monthly update from here on out as well as occasional announcements over on the discord.  Which reminds me…

I have a Discord, and if you haven’t been by yet you should check it out!  Lots of cool people sharing lots of wild content.

Which brings me to…

I am out of my slump and back to work on Chapter 8!  I want to have it wrapped up as soon as I can.  I didn’t expect to take two months off, but I think I needed it.  Looking at the script with fresh eyes really showed me what was off about the current section and I know exactly what needs fixing.  The script is pretty much squared away and the next batch of seven pages are roughed out and ready for detailing, which I will start on next week.  So excited to get some pages posted and this chapter wrapped up!

Can’t wait to hang out with the girls again!  It’s gonna be great! ;)
