Added 2023-09-01 05:59:13 +0000 UTCIn the northwestern chambers, the skeletal remains of some giant-kin are covered with a luminous crystalline growth. Its radiance mimics that of the sun, emitting both light and heat. Vines and moss creep across the shattered tile as if blanketing a forest floor of the surface realms. The air appears thick and hazy about the overgrowth, but the light of the crystals is harnessed in the safety and comfort of an adjacent controlled environment. Cut off from the overgrowth, windows are set between stone pillars to create a subterranean conservatory of sorts, brimming with produce, herbs and medicinal plants, and with a pair of double doors at either end to mitigate contaminants. Nearby, a lift ascends to the fifth level of the complex. To the south, a spring-fed fountain glimmers with the coins of those whose wishes are forgotten to time, beyond which the masonry gives way to rubble, ruin and natural cavern, which extend about the southern and eastern passages. A foul stench wafts from the bone pits of the northeast.
