A few changes for the better
Added 2019-07-31 13:45:10 +0000 UTCI just wanted to let you know of a few things I've changed that I think are going to positively effect the games you see from me.
I retired from my job. You can see from the patronage that we are not at the point where I can work on games full time, quite, but with a little side income here and there, I can work on making games *more*.
The second thing is I bought a new computer. It's nearly identical to the one I bought last year, and I bought an identical monitor. Like y'all, I'm a gamer. And when I want to play many kinds of games, I want to play them on a good, fast computer with a good graphics card -- which is to say, exactly the kind of computer I want to do renders on. If you've ever done rendering, you know it can grind your computer to a halt, to the point that even switching windows or typing something is clunky and frustrating, so whatever machine is doing renders, ain't doing much of anything else.
Now I don't have to make a choice. The result is that one computer is doing renders for most of the day, every day. I can set up renders on one, while that one chunks away, making sure it has a constant supply. I can program on one, while the other one does renders. And yeah, I can play a computer game and render at the same time, too. This is helping me increase the render-per-scene ratio for the Strange Gift remake -- I'll talk about that game more soon -- but it's also helping me make new and better renders for Damsels to replace some of the old ones. It's making me pickier about getting lighting and other details the way I want them, because the cost of redoing a render isn't measured in stopping me from doing something else I want to do.
Anyway, I'm excited about this, and I hope y'all will be excited by the results.
