Damsels 0.9 progress

I'm working away on it. I bought some a new package for doing outdoor scenes in Daz, and I'm learning to work with it. I'll post a picture in the patron area (can't post it here as it's not PG)

Much of 0.9's content will be about the emergence of a snake god cult. This is part of a general shift of putting more of my efforts into story and less on adding new mechanics.

That having been said, I've been looking at Combat. Some people have suggested I spruce it up with animations -- but animations, in my experience, while fun at first, soon get tiring, and the fifth time I see an animation in combat in an RPG game, for instance, I wish it wasn't wasting my time. Adding interesting decisions I'm all for, but little delays, I'm not.

What I am adding into 0.9 is an auto-combat option, which makes all the girls choose their basic attack for the duration of combat, and skips right to the result of that combat. A few players have reported that they are basically doing combat by mashing that first button without thinking, and while its significantly more effective to heal, faerie fire, cast the occasional fireball, etc., I want it to be an option for people who feel their party is comfortably up to the task and would prefer to reduce the grind by having combat resolved for them. I'll be testing it out in a few areas in 0.9, rather than game wide, because I want new players to figure out what they are missing by using auto-combat before they use it all the time.

Magic shields and armor are in my test version of 0.9 too, as is a change to the way random magic items are determined. In the old system, it was equally likely to get a wand (only usable by 3 classes) as a ring (which everyone but a barbarian could use). The result was that players tended to be throwing away a lot of wands as no one could use them. The new system will weight the chances based on how many classes can use them.  That does mean that magic shields (only two classes) will be pretty rare.

Anyway, back to work.
