Yeah. As the series went on he transitioned from backwater mechanic with a bitchy streak to a hired corpo hitman, then an enforcer, a TV thunderdome prisoner and then kind of full circle around to flawless cub scout who always does the right thing. All the while losing the anti-corporate and gun proliferation criticisms and satire along the way. I mean, Megacorp turned an entire planet into a wasteland and used robots to enforce the populace. That's just never touched upon again lmao (not even starting on the protopet disaster) Gadgetron is absolutely fine with everything Drek is doing, as at the end they mention he was their best customer. The guy was condemning solar systems (plural) to death to build a planet of his own that he fully intended to wreck for profit. But no, they only draw the line on the black market hypno gadget - because it affects their own profit margins.
