2021-09-04 01:28:39 +0000 UTCOkay so while I get that the running gag about hauntology where Abi says "Go read a fucking book" is to remind the audience that this isn't philosophy tube... it is still a little hurtful to people who have disabilities that make reading incredibly difficult or impossible. Especially since we tend to rely on things like podcasts, youtube, and audio books. So it's probably a decent hunk of your audience. Didn't get the vibe that any harm was intended, just thought I'd point that out, I still really enjoy the show. Best wishes.

2021-04-29 21:07:49 +0000 UTCRegarding the hypothetical well-intentioned antagonist, I think the way to actually make that character be legit in their goals and still pull it off in a Bond-esque way is for the villain's dragon (ie, their right hand legbreaker) to have believed this was all for the inevitable 100 million in (insert precious material here), rather than for the high-minded ideals...and then turn on the well-intentioned character when it becomes apparent that they aren't going to ask for anything more than the housing/medical care/UBI. Great concept though, love it. And a lovely episode.

2021-04-21 12:53:02 +0000 UTCIf you want something Bond-adjacent, I'd like to recommend the Star Trek: DS9 episode Our Man Bashir, seasn 4 episode 10, in which Dr Bashir indulges in a holosuite program where he gets to play a 60s spy :) Garak is there too so you know there's gonna be adorable shipping, great dialogue, and fun action, and some silliness (I've always seen Garak as evil Robin Williams) it could well be a good time ^_^
