Calxiyn Cares Too Much July Update!

Hello Patrons!! I wanted to give you guys an update fresh at the beginning of the month!

Last month wasn't too great in terms of being consistent - the schedule ended up suffering from the butterfly effect of getting sick in May, which meant I had to start 'from scratch' instead of the rhythm I had fallen into with recording/editing/etc. I also had a bunch of job interviews to go to at the beginning of the month. On top of all that, I got an interview for a VERY intense job in mid-July, and I knew I would have to do a ton of prep for it. So I pre-recorded a bunch of videos/shorts to edit until the interview gets done (it's on Tuesday!). I didn't want to get distracted by coming up with a video script at 3AM and ruining my sleep schedule or anything like that, so I think that was a good choice lol. I now ALSO have a singing audition the Wednesday AFTER the interview, so there's a LOT going on!

But: Hunter and I recorded a video about KPop Demon Hunters and a video about the BTS Pixar drama that happened on Elio. Editing wise, I think they will be pretty straight-forward, since the focus will be on cleaning up Hunter and I's conversation and maybe adding in a few funny edits for jokes, as opposed to my regular videos where I'm doing constant footage and camera work. I actually wanted to get Elio edited to release tomorrow, but we'll see. Hunter and I think there may be RWBY news, because Viz Media is at AX and there are apparently RWBY ads in one of the programs according to someone in Arnold's discord server, so depending on the level of the news, I'd have to get all done up and edit that instead.

The video I pre-recorded when I did the Preminger theory was 'What Disney Songs Are ACTUALLY Canon?!', which will probably take us to the end of the month. In the worst case scenario you could think of it like, Elio on the 11th, KPop on the 18th, Disney Canon on the 31st. Though I would like to capitalize on KPop/Elio as trending topics and so I may release them as soon as they are finished and not do the arbitrary 'a week between uploads' this time. I REALLY wanted to squeeze a video about 'All Is Fair' in here somewhere, since it feels like it's been a long time since I did a song analysis, but I don't know if I can swing it. That would mean in August though, we'd have 'All Is Fair' for sure, 'Cat's Meow' as voted on by you guys, and a mysterious third thing.

After the craziness of July is over, only time will tell what is next. If I get any of the jobs I applied for, obviously, it's going to be a big change. One of them in particular would be an INSANE change and it's actually been really scary for me to think about. But presuming that in the short term, things will go as they've been going with me unemployed - I'm going to try a new thing where I record multiple days in a row, say, at the beginning of a month (August), and then edit for the rest of the month. In a way I get to test run that with what Hunter and I did today. It may seem like that wouldn't change very much, but my big struggle rn is wanting to stream 3 times a week, and the other 3 days I have available (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) not being enough to script, edit, and film a video. So something has always fallen in the cracks - sometimes it's been my main Calxiyn channel, sometimes it's been me streaming etc. But I wonder if the reason why my videos take so long is because every single week I'm starting the cycle again, where I have to start fresh and constantly think of new ideas. Whereas if I have all 3-4 videos recorded at the beginning of the month, I can script on days that I stream if I feel like it at my own pace, and edit all the other days. I hope that all makes sense!

About the VTuber Project: I actually got the piano and melody version of Soliana's song back from the composer! I am blown away at how it sounds and I hope that you guys will be too when you hear it someday. Right now he wants storyboards so he can score the musical interludes, and I'm trying to figure out whether I can find a storyboard artist, or if I'll need to send him some stitched together clips from anime/Disney movies lol. I've contacted some storyboard artists from the RWBY Community so hopefully I hear back soon, otherwise, he's probably going to get a bunch of strange clips mashed together 😂🤣 I hope that we all have a great month, let's do our best!
