I haven't been a fan of Bayer since I learned it made Zyklon B, which was the fatal component used for gassing people in Nazi death camps.

I think that all of us patrons here have a want to make informed decisions and it's sometimes hard to navigate the bullshit. Yours is the first podcast that I've patronized and I am constantly impressed with every new episode. I may just be one person, and my small boycotts may not amount to a lot, but I can feel good when I look in the mirror.

Go watch How To Survive a Plague and A Normal Heart. They threw the victims corpses out in trash bags because no one would take them. Horrifying.

2020-08-15 16:22:20 +0000 UTCMy reaction before watching: Never forget, Isaac Asimov died of AIDS from an infected transfusion. My reaction to the prelude: I am less forgiving than Ryan White. The people who bullied him and his family weren't afraid of the unknown (except maybe in the Lovecraftian sense). They were angry that their just world delusion was being threatened, and so they reacted with violence. They attacked Ryan and his family, because to do otherwise would be to admit they were wrong about only bad people getting AIDS...and that would mean the bullies were the bad guys. (And they were!) My reaction after watching: "Oh man, I still can't get over that Chiquita episode! Good thing there aren't any other companies like tha-" "Hey kids! Did you know the company that invented aspirin also invented heroin, actively supported Nazis and the Holocaust, and spread the AIDS virus back in the day?" I'll never buy Bayer again....though I'll need to see what brands they sell first. EDIT: Which they helpfully provide on their website! Thanks, bloodsuckers...and it turns out you sell Alka-Seltzer and Claritin, which I have actively used for years. FUDGE! Well, no problem. Guess I'll just switch brands when I've used up my stockpile.
