In season 1 it was explained that once the viltrumite powers kick in the viltrumite DNA take over overriding the inferior DNA making them damn near pure bred viltrumites. It was explained that Omni man was sent to earth because the human species is the most compatible with viltrumite DNA. Same will be for Oliver too now that his are kicking in. Remember when Omni man asked Mark “once everyone is gone what will you have after 500 hundred years?” Implying that mark will live for hundreds and thousands of years and it’d be the same for Oliver. Omni man chose that grass hopper species because they age rapidly, his theory was raising Oliver till he grew into puberty faster in hopes the Viltrumite DNA would override his inferior genetics and make him closer to a full bred
