This should also apply to our military being put in the position of being police/prison guards, even in a war zone. Apart from both carrying guns, the skillset is ENTIRELY different. Also, since All Cops Are Bastards, when you make our military into a police force - regardless of the setting - you are turning "our brave young boys" into Bastards... and whomever thought THAT was a good idea needs to forced out of the chain of command on general principle.

Some well, some (debatably) poorly, some by how they are left intentionally vague right through the final episode.
