I'm with you guys, I'm a Harper defender. I feel like people hate her because she’s annoying, when the other characters are doing actual illegal/ confirmed immoral actions. She's definitely a bit judgey and possibly a little pretentious, but that's nothing compared to everyone else. The way she handled finding that wrapper was way calmer than I would have been.
Also, as someone who has lived in Italy for 8ish months a gay person, can confirm it was a pretty horrible experience on the acceptance/openness front. Me and my partner at the time were harassed constantly in public, and we were once followed home and harassed by the police. I really doubt there are any actual lesbian bars in Palermo, but probably some gay bars. It’s a really religious and intense in many parts in country. I met many Valentinas (closeted middle aged people) in my time.

Y'all are actually kinda wild for taking Harper's side so completely. The whole identity of this show is that everyone in it is flawed and kind of shitty. I feel like you really missed the mark on a few points in season 1 too.

I used to watch SVU and Law & Order after school and on weekends in high school. I still haven't seen close to half of the franchise and this is coming form someone who watched 14 seasons of Grey's Anatomy in a few weeks. Also i don't recommend doing that because I became emotionally exhausted.

Law & Order: SVU is literally the longest running live action primetime scripted television series in the history of American television. The only scripted primetime series that has been on the air longer is The Simpsons, which obviously isn't live action. Law & Order (the original series) is the second longest live action primetime scripted series ever - over 1,100 original episodes have aired between both series combined. The first episode of the original series (and the entire franchise) first aired more than 35 years ago - September 13, 1990.
I've never seen a single episode of the original series, SVU, or any of the other half dozen spin-offs that have aired over the last 3+ decades: 1,425 episodes spread out over 70 individual seasons. If you tried incorporating the franchise into your reaction channel, you would be working on it until you're both eligible for Social Security. Wolf Entertainment, the company headed by L&O executive producer Dick Wolf has produced nearly 3,000 episodes of television between the L&O franchise, Chicago franchise, and FBI franchise of television series.
