Comic Update: Flex Force 5

I must confess... I went back and forth on a few different story premises with these guys.  

But I'm happy with where things are going.  I really wanted to make sure there was enough... physical friction between the characters to truly convey the changes everyone endures.

When I came up with the idea for Flex Force 5, it was inspired by a certain muscle bound action/adventure movie involving an alien from outer space.  There were other elements I had been considering at the time, mainly a story version of CNT.  Rather than splitting my attention and trying to create too many story avenues, I felt it best to consolidate some ideas into Flex Force.  It always makes the writing more interesting to me when there are subtle influences that are basica...

The new UI

I've given myself some time to get used to the new user interface and while I think there are definite advantages and disadvantages it really matters how you prefer to view the content I post...  when I post it.

Presently, I would still like to complete Control Group and add the epilogue to Caggata, mainly so I can post completed PDFs.

First, thank you for sticking around and being here.

I really found myself with a growing sense of disquiet around August, and this sense of heaviness took it's greatest toll with my writing.  I suddenly found that I had difficulty completing clear tasks that I had in mind if it meant getting the words out of my head.

Sorry for the delay.  I had what I believed was a minor issue with tattoo and tan layers, but I was never able to puzzle out the root of the cause and fix it.  I decided to cheat a little in order to keep the comic progressing.

Writing from the first person, as if the character is having an argument with themself, but if that sense of 'self' is artificial? If it doesn't really belong? How far could that other... the 'Id'... push our character to do things that shouldn't seem normal?

What is truly real and what is illusion when the voice is inside your own head?

I've been listening to podcasts describing good writing habits and techniques which I'm interested in using to improve my productivity.  The biggest question I've had with my stories is if the reader really gets more just because there are more pages?

The answer to that has everything to do with the quality of the the artwork and how interesting the story is to the reader.

April Update

It's been over a month that I've been MIA!

Aside from real work stress and busy work slowing things down, I’ve had some questions I wanted to answer by the end of the story without going into too much exposition and slowing down the pace.

Namely: what happens to Hunter/Harlow in the end and what becomes of Giorgio and James.

I'm still alive!

It's been very stressful, dealing with my on again off again sinus and cold issues.  Then my family coming down with the same flu(not COVID) that I seemed to have. 

So it's been a real challenge to stay creative and direct the story and art someplace that I think is interesting.  Lately, I load a scene and realize that something bothers me and I tear everything out and start again.

This has been a rough month for me, with colds and sinus allergies reducing my productivity.  I'm picking up momentum to complete the next chapter despite challenges ( think I've totally scrapped several scenes, completely rebuilding them from scratch in the meantime).

I'm really looking forward to finishing another chapter of this story ;)

First off, thank you to all the newcomers and thank you to all of those who continue to lend their support.  It is greatly appreciated!

The chest cold (not COVID) that I've been dealing with for the past 2 weeks seems to be coming back.  That with other issues I'm having laying down the next scene renders means I will need to take a break.

Quick Update
