Also, if you're worried about Cap going back in time to be with Peggy messing up Peggy's relationship with Sousa, don't be, when Cap went back in time to be with Peggy he created an alternate timeline, with an alternate Peggy, our Peggy is in the main timeline and remains unaffected.

They also indicated that Thompson survived being shot, at least initially that is, they didn't elaborate on whether or not he would survive the season of course.
