Hard at work on my Soulcalibur Roster Retrospective video and I'm going all in.
I even made a title card for each character to introduce their sections! :D

Morning, folks!
Laptop is back from the shop this week and all fixed up :)
I have been busying away making some new thumbs for existing videos to give them kind of a "signature" look.
And hey, here's four new thumbs just for you guys to let you know what I am working on right now!
Hoping to get Dolphin Blue out in late August and I'd really like the Soulcalibur roster analysis to drop on 09/09/99... I mean 09/09/24
Other than that, I haven't forgotten about...
Hi folks!
Just in case you missed the bad news - my laptop has clonked out and so I currently have no way of making or editing videos :(
I will be back up and running in the future when I can get it fixed, but sadly that costs money and at the minute all my money is going into the house move.
Hoping to be back in a few months, and in the meantime I appreciate your patience and support!
Hello friends!
Just a little update here to say I'm currently working on two videos: Low Poly Summer (a celebration of sunny fifth and sixth gen games) and also one pretty darned big video that I do not know when it will be done.
This is to say that if I go a little quiet and drop off the radar for a while in-between videos: don't worry! I'm still here working on stuff behind the scenes.
And for now, if you got a low-poly beach or hotspot you want me to check out, just le...
A little rundown of every character in Power Stone replete with plenty of talk about vibes and aesthetics.
This one will hit the Youtubes tomorrow but I wanted to make sure you guys got it tonight!
Hello fellow enjoyers!
As you might know, I am currently in the process of moving house so probably no videos this month but hoping to get Power Stone and Garou finished and up sometime in July :)
And in case you were curious, these are all the thumbs for ideas I have right now. Leaning towards doing Dolphin Blue and Golden Axe for August and September.
Peace!
It's been at least five minutes since I last talked about cel-shading

Messing around today trying to make the Dreamcast Enjoyer character pop a little bit more, so I threw in some thick black outlines ala Jet Set Radio (and fixed the t-shirt fit so there is no more conspicuous lack of neck)
Also a few different decor set-ups for my office here... bonus points if you can spot all the references!
Whilst we're at it, which game would you like to see me review next?
I'm fixing to play all of these over the summer so I'll want to chat about them for sure!
I love a good topic video and I have quite a few ideas rolling around in my head at the moment.
It's likely I will just end up talking about all of these things in due course, but if you have a moment please go ahead and vote for the idea you find most interesting!
(I am working on the Dreamcast music video as an ongoing thing but right now I have writer's block with that one, so just looking for another project in the meantime)
Some thoughts on Sega's most swashbuckling RPG
(will hit the Youtubes in June)
We're bringing this one forward, my dudes. Enjoy!
Updated Youtube schedule is:
May - Bulk Slash
June - Skies of Arcadia
July - Dreamcast Type Beats
August - Living that Low-Poly Life
Some thoughts on reading game manuals, couch co-op and gaming in a pre-internet world.
It will hit the Youtubes on 1st May, but you guys get it now :D
Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know I've found some space to do a lot of recording this week and so now I have the audio commentary done for several videos: just need to edit together some footage and soundtracks for them. With this in mind, I can confirm the summer schedule for the channel will look like this:
May - Fully Immersive Gaming Experiences
(thoughts on nostalgia, couch co-op, reading game manuals etc)
June

Hello there, fellow enjoyers!
As you've probably noticed, these last few months I've not been able to get videos out with the frequency I'd hope for, and unfortunately it's now looking like my output will be quite sporadic for the foreseeable.
Don't worry I'm certainly not closing the channel down or anything like that; I hope to continue for years to come. But I do feel a bit lousy taking a monthly Patreon pledge when I cannot commit to monthly content. I'm still bu...

Hello out there, fellow enjoyers!
I need your help :)
So, basically, I have started to write the script for my "Dreamcast Type Beats" video which is all about the musical identity of the console. I'm trying to find the tracks that really capture that clean, futuristic "blue skies" type feel.
Problem is... there's way too much stuff!
So far I've narrowed it down to around 27 games (listed below) which I think really capture the vibe but I definitely want to get this ...
Hi All,
Just a little update to let you know what's going on over here at Jank HQ.
Nice news over on Youtube as we've just hit 4k on the channel which is very nice. Other than that I'm working hard on scripts and footage for a few different videos:
- Vibes of Arcadia
- Dreamcast Type Beats
- Bulk Slash Review
- Fully Immersive Gaming Experiences of Yesteryear
I still want to review Lack of Love at some point too but I got writer's block with it an...
Just started work on this script.
Basically a detailed look at all the cozy towns and stuff in Skies of Arcadia :)

Here's the full video :)
Sadly I will have to remove one of the songs when it hits YouTube due to demonetisation
I am busying away editing this Shenmue video for the Youtubes which will hopefully drop in the next couple of weeks, but wanted to share my current progress with you guys :)
So far I have done the first part, which is all about the vibes and exploring.
The next section will be all about the combat system and then the final bit is all about the What's Shenmue demo along with some wrap-up thoughts.
Hello, folks!
Just a little update here to tell you what I'm working on and when it should be with you 😊
Shenmue (March) - this will be a detailed review of the first game plus the Japan-exclusive "What's Shenmue" demo. I've finished the script and recorded all the footage so now just need to edit.
Lack of Love (April) - I'm just about to start a blind playthrough of this game so I'll just be reviewing it once finished... it's only a short game so April feels realistic...
Starting to edit together this Shenmue video and naturally the first order of business is to make a bunch of silly sketches :)

If you miss the old "pick up and play" vibe of old action games (before the days of crafting systems and open world hoo-hah) then you need to check this one out.
Also, it's janky as hell :)
Some more chat about one of my favourite Sonic Team games.
This will be our January video and then currently scheduled to follow we got:
Wanted Dead (February)
Shenmue (March)
Lack of Love (April)
Shinobi (May)

OK, so, the schedule is gonna be a little less this year than I had hoped, but I'll still do my best to bring you some fun and interesting videos! :)
I had made a schedule of 3 videos per month, but that was when I was off work and hopped up on Christmas juice so maybe it was a little over-ambitious!
Unfortunately, I work 2 jobs and this year is gonna be extra busy for me, so 1 video per month is more realistic. If I can do more, I will, and rest assured I will continue to ...

Here's a sneak peek at next year's schedule, folks.
I've tried to get a good selection of iconic Dreamcast games in there to celebrate the 25th anniversary year, but I've also chucked in a few essays and non-DC games just to keep things varied!
Looking forward to sharing these with you all :)
Now with added discussion of Sega's shock Jet Set Radio announcement :)

Soulcalibur is amazing and you already know that.
However, if you would like to hear me talk about it... here you go! :)
