My favorite joke here is a bit dated but made Gen Xers like me howl: Barry is played by Henry Winkler, who long ago played the Fonz on the sitcom HAPPY DAYS (along with Ron Howard, this show's producer and narrator). When Barry, GOB and Michael are talking in the courthouse bathroom, Barry goes to comb his hair but then stops and spreads his arms as if to say "Why mess with perfection?" Winkler routinely did the same move on HAPPY DAYS whenever a mirror was in sight. eh, maybe you had to be there. But trust me it's hilarious

2025-07-30 20:12:27 +0000 UTCI'm gonna be the fun fact guy I guess. Season one of this show has so many episodes that were aired out of order. Fox had (has?) a reputation of doing this and in most sitcoms its going to be mostly unnoticed and nothing in the show will feel off. The example here is in episode 15 Tobias sends himself to jail but in episode 16 he isn't, and not to spoil too much he isn't in jail again in episode 17 but in episode 18 he is back in jail. I think this is the last instance of this happening to this show. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were dating for 3 years when they filmed this. They later got married in the same year. Since the Marta story line is over, Marta was played by two different actresses, the original Marta was played by Leonor Varela but she had to leave due to a scheduling conflict, and the Marta we see of the rest of the episodes is played by Patricia Velasquez. Ron Howard does the voice over for the show, he was also the executive producer. He and Liza Minnelli and Henry Winkler (who he starred in Happy Days with) were close friends so he asked them to come do the show for him. I love this show, for a long time this was my comfort show. I've probably watched the first 3 seasons 15-20 times. It was my favorite show until WWDitS.
