So, well the sequels aren't great (even though a couple are underrated), they are interesting in the way sequels in the current blockbuster era aren't because...they didn't really know what they were doing. So, it's a bit more disjointed and wacky than say, if there was a bunch of executives and writers planning things out for years in advance.
