That moment? That’s classic ship bait. And it’s not just Attack on Titan — there’s a whole subculture of women who ship male characters together in anime (and beyond), and Levi/Eren is one of the biggest ships in the AoT fandom. What’s wild is that this actually goes way back — like to the 1970s Star Trek fandom. Women were writing romantic fanfiction about Kirk and Spock being in love before most of today’s fandom even existed. They started mailing each other fanfics, making zines, and eventually organizing some of the first sci-fi conventions. So that same instinct — spotting intense emotional or protective moments between male characters and interpreting it as something deeper — literally helped create the modern fandom landscape. So if you ever feel like, ‘Is this something?’ when you see Levi stare at Eren too long, or Erwin and Levi give war-torn glances at each other... Just know: thousands of women before you thought the same thing — and built an empire of fanfiction, cosplay, and memes around it. 😄 If you want to go down that rabbit hole, the AoT fandom is loaded with gorgeous fan art, fics, cosplay, and videos. I'm probably not the first to comment this, but if it's possible, it's usually a good idea to not watch the next episode preview. There are some previews that are a little extra revealing and almost spoiler-y. I know it's a logistics thing with keeping the episode sync'd up, but just wanted to mention it! Regardless, can't wait to see how y'all react to everything that's still to come.
