Daenarys will forever be my favorite character in the entire series. Love Arya too.

ok

love the thirst for Rob, he is a beautiful man

Chrysus

I’m sure at this point you’ve heard it enough but the track at the end is the stark theme. It’s both somber but uplifting at the same time and you’ll definitely keep hearing it.

Ludus Aurea

I have the same top 3. With Daenerys #1.

Jonathan Blaze

Khaleesi #1. Tyrion #2. Arya #3. I like how they put fire in the foreground when Tyrion and Varys were talking about Khaleesi. Theon really, really, rreeeeeeaally should have left with his sister.

Jonathan Blaze

Arya #1 Jaqen #2 Tyrion #3

Phat Cristo

Well this discussion is sounding like spoiler territory so I'm gonna stay out of it ;-)

Christophe

they actually tested purple contacts with her and decided against it. Thank god, because her eyes are so damn expressive.

Ietseatapples

I mean she is right often but she also sometimes makes some of the dumbest mistakes in the show and books, with far-reaching consequences for others around her

Adam Vialpando

I doubt even Robb would have been dumb enough to execute Jaime like that. Not even Karstark is that persuasive.

Adam Vialpando

Favorite character up to this point, and really for the whole show, is Bronn. Just a cheeky roguish badass. "You don't fight with honor!" "No... he did." LMAO Gotta love Ygritte too, mostly for the same reason. The crazy thing about this show is we're now almost 2 full seasons in, and some of the most interesting characters haven't even been introduced yet. And many of the already established characters haven't had their big trajectory-altering moment either.

Ryley

JUST a tad, Robb has a massive glow up and gains some swagger that was unanticipated.

Arianna

Djawadi really cooked with that Stark theme didn't he. So melancholy, so beautiful

Christophe

Tyrion ,Arya and Robb. Also I believe those aren't contacts. Emilia Clarke just has devastating eyes.

My favorites at this point were: Jon Snow, Ser Davos, and Tyrion. Back then I hated Theon and Joffrey equally. Girls, don't be too hard on Catelyn. Her vision is clouded with the desire to get her daughters back. desperate people often make desperate choices. Best line in the ep is actually from Ned Stark; "Can a man still be brave if he's afraid? That is the only time a man can be brave," God, I miss Ned, but the writing cleverly shows how Robb is truly his fathers' son.

My favorite characters to this point were Tyrion, Arya, Daenerys, and Robb in a close 4th.

I think the reason Cat released Jaime is because she truly believed that Robb would execute him to make up for that guy's son being killed. Because it was either Robb execute Jaime or one of Robb's biggest, most vocal allies would turn on him. Cat knew what Robb would HAVE to do, so she released Jaime in order to protect Arrya from certain death. Because again, she still believes the Lannisters have both girls, and clearly Arrya is the expendable one. If they had Arrya and heard that Jaime was killed, they most certainly would've killed Arrya. Was what she did hopeful? Yes, but it wasn't completely dumb.

Tyrion was my favorite and I was completely entranced by Dany. I love the Starks but at this point they just weren't my favorites. On the other hand I really love the music of the Stark theme better than any other.

Stephen Knueppel

At this point my favorite characters were Arya, Tyrion, Jaq'an Hagar, and Robb in that order. My most hated were Theon and Joffrey, interestingly enough in that order. Joffrey is a psyho who was raised by other psychos so I didn't expect anything from him except cruelty, but Theon was raised by Ned and intentionally turned away from that and that just always seemed worse to me.

Well, as to the Catelyn hate... Let me just put it this way, I think if you drew the Venn diagram of the Cat haters with the Skyler from Breaking Bad haters, it would be pretty close to a circle. Most of it is the usual raging idiots on the internet hating on women that defy men in TV shows. Like these people mostly don't even really hate her for the freeing Jaime thing. They hate that too obviously but that's not why they hate her. And you really shouldn't dig too deep into this because I think in the book fandom, the Cat hate goes even deeper and wilder. Cat is a very interesting POV character in the books because she's very different from most other characters. She's very traditional, you could even say conservative, which makes her sometimes come off as condescending or arrogant. She also has a lot more scenes where she advises Robb and mostly her counsel goes against what Robb or his men want to do or hear but in the end she just seems to always be right. Which a lot of male readers obviously can't stand about her... But mostly I think her chapters are just very depressing to read because she's a terribly depressed and pessimistic person. So I always found her chapters kind of arduous to get through because they're very much not joyful. But that's about it. To hate her so fervently is pretty ridiculous.

Christophe

Fav characters up to this point...Tywin, Cersei, Tyrion, Varys, Catelyn. Characters I found the most interesting and drive the plot rather than just react to the plot around them.

People always kill Cat for her decision to try to trade hostages but I'm always curious to hear what do you think she should have done? Robb's men were going to kill Jaime that night as they were drunk on revenge and Robb was not there to stop them. But if they killed Jaime, the Lannisters would in turn kill Sansa (and likely make it excruciating). If you're Cat and you know the only thing keeping Sansa (and in her mind Arya) from being tortured and executed is that you have a valuable hostage, what would you do if Robb's men were going to kill the valuable hostage? Would you really sacrifice your daughters to satisfy the blood lust of Robb's men?

Podrick!!!!

Mark Lecuyer

My favorite characters at this point were Arya, Tyrion & Varys in that order. My most hated character was Joffrey by a long shot haha. I liked Jamie at this point too cuz I thought he was blunt smartass. I liked the way he spoke when he was captive and how he read Cat hahahaha

Ray H

Theon did not come up with killing the farm boys. That was his first mate when he pointed out the crushed walnuts and they sent the Maester home. Dunno if the walnuts meant "hey there's some boys here" or what but that was when he gave his plan to Theon without saying anything. Theon is not a man with a plan. He's a boy who had it easy his whole life. "Ironborn"? 🙄

Sir_Dalagad

Sir Rodrik Cassel was the braided and tied sideburns guy.

Sir_Dalagad

Since ya asked, my favorite character at this point was Tyrion but Arya was a close second and Jon a distant third. Robb is just a little too perfect but I'm sure a lot of people liked him at this point. Y'all both sound ready to volunteer to be queen in the North right now lol

Sir_Dalagad

The quotables this ep were crazy 😆
