After months of speculation surrounding what the four-time world champion would do next year, having been strongly linked to Mercedes, the story has reached the end of the line for now and it is clear he is going nowhere. That is the result of a performance clause, which could have left him a free agent for 2026, no longer able to be activated following his points hauls from the Belgian Grand Prix.
