Love how Chuck sheds the blanket once he finds out what Jimmy’s been up to and once he promises to be good

2024-09-11 21:26:09 +0000 UTCI think the relationship between Jimmy and Chuck is the single best thing about this show, and it only deepens as the show goes on. It's probably the most nuanced, complex relationship between brothers I have ever seen depicted on screen.

2024-09-11 02:51:45 +0000 UTCI love the story of the relationship of Chuck and Jimmy in this show. Obviously, Chuck should be committed, but with his stubbornness and pride, he would probably just resent it then push everyone away once he returns home. He needs to be convinced to want to continue to seek help.

2024-09-10 23:35:11 +0000 UTCI love when the camera stays with Mike and we just see him go about his day. Beautiful framing and editing choices too, that matches the curious vibe. I'm glad you got to watch this and 1x6 back to back, I'll post more there, it's the turning point. I agree Chuck should be committed and someone with this 'condition' cannot get better without help, but worth bearing in mind that it's the early 2000s in this show atm (Breaking Bad starts 2008, we're presumably X years before that) so attitudes were a bit less developed re: mental health and therapy and such. Fun fact: this episode was supposed to be titled "Jell-O", and all the episodes this season were supposed to end in 'O' names (Uno, Mijo, Nacho, Hero so far) but Jell-O is a trademarked name so they had to change it to 'Alpine Shepard Boy', the little figurine the old woman shows Jimmy.
