Game of Thrones 1x5

Maybe since I'm not caught up with the reactions this will change but you guys are missing info/action/dialogue by writing things down and it's not helping with your understanding much. It's a weird thing because viewers warn reactors there is a lot to keep up with but that then scares ppl into thinking they won't know what's going on by just watching the show. Regardless you guys are a great reaction channel and I'm thankful I found your Patreon!

ok

The scenes between Littlefinger and Varys are legendry. Some of the greatest television in history. "Littlefinger is Robert's brother? "-that's a new one on me. So Loras is a sword swallower after all. Lol.

Jonathan Blaze

Yea I get what u mean but yes, Jamie is at least the 3rd best swordsman ever if not the 2nd. Close between him Ser Barriston.

Andrew Clifton

Jaime is a prodigy and leagues above Ned. The problem is that Sean Bean has done sword fighting in films before, most notably in Lord of the Rings, and thus whereas Jaime's actor hadn't. That difference in skill unfortunately shows through in how comfortable each looks.

Adam Vialpando

Jaime is certainly much better than Ned. Unfortunately though in real lead Sean Bean has done much more sword work in film so it's a lot easier for him to show sword skill on screen, unlike Jaime's actor Nicholas who is comparatively less experienced in that regard.

Adam Vialpando

The way she said it had me belly laughing. It's a perfect sample for a song.

I know I'm behind rn but Maple, you do not lose track of cause and effect. There is indeed a discrepancy when it comes to the assassin and the dagger. It will be explained though. And Arianna watching you try to give info without spoiling things for maple was almost as entertaining as the episode itself, for a span of like six seconds, somewhere there during the epilogue discussion it looked like you were playing pong or tetris in your head trying to formulate the right words lol.

Brian West

Yea it definitely goes a lot differently in the book lol. A horse falling on his leg lol.

Andrew Clifton

lol "trust me" they never really fought so you would never know

MarkyMark

Yea trust me. Jamie one of the best fighters of all time. He might be an asshole but while Ned is a decent warrior but Jamie is far better. That's why he was so irritated by what that guy did. He needed 0 help and knows that. In the books it obviously goes into a bit more detail but they make it very clear that Jamie is possibly the best warrior alive today. Also, you can't really blame him for wanting to get his bro back.

Andrew Clifton

see i don't see it that way. I think it was written like that so we couldn't tell who would win and ned gets injured so now we won't have a chance to know until he heals fully. jamie wants everyone to know he's the best but ned wants to keep his skills close to his chest.

Chad Gloria

Listening to some of those theories at the end 😂🤣😅🤣😂

Andrew Clifton

Homeboy who stuck a spear in Ned's leg actually saved his life lol. Jamie was just toying with him and would easily kill Ned (Even more so in the books). Great reaction guys. And I'll forgive you for thinking Renly was Littlefingers brother. 😂🤣😅

Andrew Clifton

Also, I just did a dab for the first time as this started then did 3 more so it's great lol.

Andrew Clifton

Na Maple. There is no such thing as a "Sad blowjob" 😂🤣😅😂😂 It's magical healing lol.

Yes the kingdoms are “divided” in a sense ever since Robert’s Rebellion, they had been under Targaryen rule for centuries and had been united under that one bloodline, but now that they’ve taken the throne from them, it’s kinda shown everyone, well now that the dragons are gone we can just rule over ourselves, robert rebelled why shouldn’t we if our lands are threatened? so it’s not like they’re in an active war over the divisions of the lands, but they’re definitely not united anymore under a single cause, they’re all looking out for their own lands and titles.

I think it’s super cool to hear in an earlier episode Jorah tells Daenerys “King Robert is fool enough to meet the Dothraki in an open field” and here in his scene with Cersei, Robert actually demonstrates he has a tactical mind and a knowledge for battle, he may be a dumb, lustful drunkard but as Renley said it himself “He loves his killing”.

Also worth considering that if Littlefinger was Robert's brother...there's no way IN HELL a "simple word to the queen" from Varys would cause him worry. Littlefinger is a jumped up noble from a lower house with no strong allies, especially when it comes to muscle. He is isolated and vulnerable, like Varys. The Lannisters could literally just seize him and have him offed with little to no repercussions. This is (I think obviously) not the case for, say, Renly. ALSO: how do you read these books and forget so much stuff like that Arianna! Lol no shade, it makes for a much better reaction video, but that's so odd to me. I read these books once in high school 17 years ago and I don't see how I'd ever get that confused, especially given how the show has gone so far.

I was going to comment this same thing. It's one of my favorite scenes to rewatch and see reactions to. Lena Headey is PHENOMENAL (as always), but it's such a standout bit of acting that this scene alone I think earns Mark Addy a seat at the table for best performances in season 1. The way he drops all his bravado and cynical sarcasm, and the way he actually takes the time to seriously discuss the Targaryen situation with her is a completely different side of him, which transitions PERFECTLY to the raw and intimate vulnerability he shows over his feelings for Lyanna. Such a great scene considering it didn't even come out of the books. When D&D still gave a shit about making the series properly, they did some pretty awesome stuff imo. Edit: spelling, phrasing

SixDickSally

I love the conversation between Cersi & Robert.(the acting & writing in the scene was amazing). Personally, I feel there was a moment early in their marriage that she really liked him and would have been 'loyal' to him if he would have given her a chance. I feel their first child died naturally and that loss with Robert's unlove towards her is what drove her in other directions.

Mark Lecuyer

totally agree... there is so much info being conveyed, so much world building that you are not (I least I didn't on y 1st watch) get everything. The white board stuff is great - just only do it if it provides you enjoyment. Once it becomes 'work' - then put them down and just watch. The show will meet you in the middle of the knowledge you need.

Mark Lecuyer

I know right now it feels overwhelming trying to understand all the moving pieces, but the show does a pretty good job bringing it all together as you keep watching. So hopefully you dont put too much stress on understanding and can enjoy it. Loving the reactions though!

Alexander

Ooooh or I could dip out for a moment and give her the room to say!

Chad Gloria

Lysa was also recently in Loki S2. I'm not sure if either of you watched that on your own time. Also, an idea for Arriana to tell us her thoughts without maybe spoiling Maple, she could right it on the whiteboard and show the camera lol.

Joshua Luzania

Whoooo!!!¡!!! LFG !!!!!!!!!!! And man both yall are looking as beautiful as ever.
