John never leaves Japan. That is confirmed through the later books that take place in later eras. The visions you saw of him as an old man were his concussed brain trying to make sense of everything that had happened.

2025-02-03 02:26:51 +0000 UTCI kind of wish they would leave this at 1 season. I read the book when I was a kid and from what I remember this stuck really closely to it. I thought it was a beautiful show with such a great ending. Flowers are only flowers because they fall.

Yabushige entertaining ass is packed up Ochiba might heat back up but that's a maybe because as much as Toranaga knew what was gon happen Mariko been looking for that long kiss goodnight so she can't really be mad. Granted I would watch a season 2 to for the assessment but I'd probly enjoy an anthology series kinda like american horror story or fargo. I think Sanada would be a dope Nobunaga Oda

2024-06-25 02:31:12 +0000 UTCOh really? I didn't know they announced that. I know this is where the story in the book ends and I heard there were "no plans" back when the season first wrapped. I'll be interested to see how they carry the story forward. ( oh, technically there is a sequel to this book but its set hundreds of years in the future and features the descendants of these characters. It would be really wild if they actually chose to adapt the second one.)

2024-06-24 21:44:14 +0000 UTCI'm so deeply conflicted about that. On the one hand, I love this show and it's actors. Obviously, more of that is enticing. On the other hand, part of what makes this show special and work so well is that it has a definitive end to it. It gives you everything you need for a satisfying story, well-told. There was supposed to be no risk of potentially disappointing follow-ups and diminishing returns. I hope the new seasons are good. But, I was so refreshed when the creators originally promised that this was it. I guess the money was too much to pass up. So it goes.
